Snowman

Remember the 12 Days of Christmas in July?
Well, here is a snowman pillow that Stitchin at Home had on her site.
I had planned this to be for my Mom since her name was Joy.
But, we will keep it here in her memory.
Her favorite color was pink, so that is why the JOY is in pink.

Last Banner

Finished the banner for my DD's roommate.
Hard to see, because I can't get direct on it from where the design wall is.

Stashbuster Stay At Home Retreat

i need some happiness in my day, so i think I'll be retreating this weekend.
My loose goals are:

1.    Sew center of baby quilt together

2.    Make 3 postcards
3.    Continue Irish Stars quilt along
4.    Simply Woven progress

A Day late

I was busy yesterday, but on lots of other things than quilting.

finished DD's name banner
Now to make one for her roommate
Started string piecing the baby clothing quilt together.
I need to get this off the design wall so I can add more to it.
still working on the Irish Star quilt Along.

Today is Mom's Memorial
I will probably do something in the studio this morning because the memorial is at 4.
I have been cutting more baby clothing this morning.
I have a pile ready to cut and I have a bag ready to be stabilized.

memorial

This is the obituary in a book mark form.
Here are the 40 Kleenex covers that I made.
Mom's favorite color was pink with some green.
I just used a couple scraps of fabric and made however many it made.

The memorial is tomorrow.

Banner

TQPM March issue had a Happy Birthday Banner
DD decided she would like one for her dorm room with her name on it.
Things I learned
I don't stitch in the ditch well, which is why I don't do machine bindings.
I should use an invisible thread to do those things.

But, it is done and she likes it.

midweek makers

Since I need to work on this, it went onto the new design wall.

Purple & Brown UFO

This started out as a baby quilt.
I didn't like the accuracy of it, so it became a pillow to have another UFO done.

Let's Bee Social

Wedding Dress Blues is having a quilt along.
I needed something like this for a project in December.
From my pre-cuts to begin with and now I'm needing to supplement.
I'm using blue/green/purple with a white background.
This design wall will be covered when the flannel gets here.
None of my local shops had a wide backed flannel.
First baby clothing quilt is coming along.
I now need to sew this section together and have more room on the design wall.
This is a very long term project.

Make sure to go and check out the other links.

Patchwork Times

has picked #8 as the one to use
I can see making a purse out of this, since that is what it was before the leftovers.
Or, a rail fence lap quilt.
Not sure what it is going to be, but I think I will have fun with it.

One Monthly Goal

This is hard this month.
I have so many things I'd like to get done, but I think the Simply Woven has to be focused on.
This is DS's quilt and I don't like the pattern, so it got put aside.

I didn't get this one done because of a death in the family.
So, it is once again my OMG for August

Design Wall

Design wall is going up.
I've always just pinned a fabric design wall over there.
DH has begun to put the new permanent design wall up.
It will increase the space I can use.
I had to order on line the fabric to cover the wall, but it will be here soon.
None of the stores carried a wide flannel. :(
This is going to be sooooo nice!

Lone Star Parkinson Society

Spent the morning running around to pick items for the Parkinson's event this weekend.
