I am quilting the Hope Hospice Quilt and need to bind it.
I don't have any fabric in the quilt, but it is an honor to quilt it.

I have two more memory quilts to finish before I get my own going again.

I am working on a test quilt, and that is all from my stash and scraps.

So, there is hope in getting some fabric change going soon.

I'm fighting hip and joint issues, so my time in the studio is less than I would like.

Hope Hospice quilt

I had the honor to help put together the Hope Hospice Quilt with these wonderful ladies.

This is the quilt, and I get to quilt it.

I have the quilt loaded and ready to quilt.
If my hip stays OK today, I will work to get it quilted.

I've had hip problems for the last two days and was out of commission.

I feel better today, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

What have I been up to?

Very little quilting going on around here.

DD has a new job and apartment.

Moving in was required.

We had my van filled with things and her Dad's truck filled with bigger things.

She got her keys and began a new chapter in her life.

Her Dad built her dining room table and chairs.
I pulled out the May placemats.

Her Dad built her a new desk, and he was happy to be done.

Her Dad built her a rolling island for more counter space.

She is making the built-in desk into a Coffee/Tea Station.
Mainly because she has too much tea. LOL
Her Dad built the six-drawer set to add more drawer space in the apartment.

Dad was at it again and built a drawer for under the desk.

She has a wreath for May, and Martha, a good friend, made a welcome wall hanger.

The weekend has us moving in all the big furniture and getting some things unpacked for her.

Now it is all up to her to finish packing and putting everything where she wants it to be.

So, now to get back to normal, whatever that is.

May Plans

I need to focus on accountability.

So, my plans for May

DONE 1. Quilt NBAQG Charity Quilts

I have a Spiderman one on the long arm right now.

I'm making spiderwebs across the quilt.

I know I'll pick up two more at the guild meeting.

2. Finish Rob's Cross Heart Quilt

I have one inner border side to add and then the outer border.

At that point, it will be ready to quilt.

3. Finish Amy's T-shirt Quilt
I have three more to stabilize, and then I can start adding the hanging ribbon to each.

I am enjoying this smaller T-shirt Quilt.

4. Test Quilt
I can't show a photo of the test quilt.

I have to finish cutting out the background, and I can start to stabilize it.

5. Crayon Rolls

I have 55 more to make for my friend Tammy.

They are all cut out and need to be marked and sewn.

If I can find a couple days to work on them, I can get them done.

DONE 6. Senior Center project

We had our first session, and everyone enjoyed it.
I will need to develop something else for the second session because everyone is close to finishing them.

7. Radio Waves Baby Quilt

I didn't make my middle of the month.

I sewed on it at an open sew and had some issues with not following the pattern well.

I am close to finishing the center.

This needs to be done sooner than later because the baby is due in the middle of the month.

Update

I have been quilting some between getting banking information and credit card information updated.

I teach at the Cibolo Senior Center, and last Friday, we made these boxy pincushions.

I think everyone had fun with them, even though they were a bit difficult at the corners.

I now need to finish up the samples I use to show everyone the steps.

I finished quilting Bloom that I worked on at my retreat in March.
I have the binding ready to sew, as long as my hands are not complaining too much.

I quilted one of the NBAQG charity quilts last night.
I have one more to go.

Progress

  My to-do-list for 2023

2. Memory quilt from Rob's shirts. I am adding a colored border from the shirts (one side to go), and then there will be an outside border for the final one.

3. Second Memory quilt from Rob's T-shirts. They are cut and stabilized, so it should go fairly quickly.

4. Lillian's baby clothing memory quilt is almost finished. I need to cut more baby clothing and even out the boy and girl fabric. I made her two quilts with her twin's clothing. I am in the process of making her one with both boy and girl clothing in it. I use this one as a leader/ender, and it is growing. I've run out of the girl fabrics and need to cut more.

5. Donna's memory quilt or two, depending on how it goes together. I think I will be doing hers in a heart shape.

6. I'd like to make some memory teddy bears from Rob, Karen, Lillian, and Donna's leftovers.

7. Karen's hexagon memory quilt.

8. Larger hexagon pillow from Karen's leftover fabrics.

9. Karen's Zinna Pillow

10. Driesbach T-shirt quilt.

Three more to stabilize. The burgundy will be the hanging strips between the shirts, and the gray will be the background fabric.

11. Hawaiian pants for Ashley

12. Hawaiian Applique

I finished one part of the Hawaiian Applique.

There are two or three of them.

I need to figure out what I'm doing with all of them.

12. Hawaiian Sashiko

I worked on this the first night at the retreat but nothing after that.

I am working on it while in the car with Randy driving.

13. Off Kilter

16. Christmas Panel - Winter's Eve

FINISHED

DONE 14. Test Quilt

The Test Quilt is finished, but I can't show a photo of it.
