I finished the binding on the FROG Quilt tonight
Not a great photo, but I think it turned out OK.
I have the binding started on the Cat swap block quilt.
It should be done tomorrow.

Book It

How are you doing with your Book It Challenge?
March was NOT a good month.
I could not decide on the quilt to start in the book until last week.
finally picked this one.
I'm using the 1.5" bonus HST I've been trimming for years.
I have two of this size box filled with them.
I have one of the 16 blocks made.
I think I'll probably work at making the last row a point on the star to finish it out.
I guess time will tell.
I have two more laid out to sew together.

I've picked my April Book
More Fat Quarter Quilts by M'Liss Rae Hawley.
I'll be using another UFO to make a baby quilt from the book.
I have all these redwork elephants.
Why not use a book and make a baby quilt.
I need 3 by the end of the summer.

WITB

the tools were getting out of hand.
I couldn't find anything.
Now, one of my thirty-one purchases has been put to good use.

Quiltathon

After sewing the body, it looks like the turtle went into its shell. :)

After this, it needs to be washed.
Stuffed and ready to find the address to mail it off.
Finished the heart ornament.
Why didn't I just make it at the time?
It's the stabilizer.
I quilted the FROG quilt.
Now to trim and add binding so I can work on it tomorrow evening.

Quiltathon

It is another Quiltathon over at Patchwork Times.
Yesterday didn't go quite like I wanted it to, but I did get the shel of the turtle done.

I plan on being in the studio most of today.
I have some household chores that need done, but I hope to focus on my March goals.

Not much happening

Busy week, and not feeling great.
The oak pollen is high and I am feeling it.
DD is not feeling great either.
We did go to Painting with a Twist SOS Class
DD finished her painting.
 I love it!!!
I helped work on the branches of DD's Owl.
She likes it better.
I fixed the beach on my Cape Cod painting.
I think this is my favorite of the paintings I have done.

Today is a long day, but I hope to get some sewing done this evening.
Time will tell.

Design Wall Monday

This is from my bonus HST
I'll be making a pattern out of the book I picked for March.
Not many patterns in this book that I like, but this should be fun.
It calls for light/light HST and I don't have many of those, so I think I'll just cut White/WOW/COW prints from my scrap whites and fill in the areas.
I hope I have enough of the dark/dark HST to make this quilt.
I have lots of these 1.5" HST, so I hope it works.
Modern Maze is coming along.
Since the previous blocks were done incorrectly, I am doing only a few at a time to see how many I can make. I suppose I could take the others apart, but if I don't have to.....
My cat swap blocks are probably going to be this size.
I have one block that has buttons on it.
I think this is a cute baby quilt, so I need to applique or embroider the eyes on those 4 cats.
Will make a backing and maybe get it quilted this week.
all my BOM/BOW blocks are on my curtain design wall. :)
I have one of each to make to get caught up.
Maybe tomorrow evening.
We shall see.
Check out all the other designs walls at Patchwork Quilting.

Animal Applique

Finished it.
I need to make the pillow form before giving it away.
But, since i don't have a new owner, I'll wait and make the pillow form when it is time to share.

Postcards

I don't want to swap blocks anymore.
That is where many of my UFOs came to be.
So, I decided I would join in on swapping postcards.
It allows for creativity, but not loads of time.
I received this one from Mary Lou
This is my spring collection of cards.
It hangs near my computer.
These are the ones I made.
Nancie sent me this one.

I now need to make some for Easter.

WITB

Yes, there is NO reason I should have so many bags and boxes that need going through.
But, I am a clean up and put in a box or bag kinda gal. :(
I am slowly moving out of the studio and into the extra bedroom closet.
I still have paperwork to go through, but I get overwhelmed by it, so it has to be in small pieces.
This box will take some time going through it.
My plan is to work on it as I walk by.
It is sitting on a chair that is between the sewing machine and ironing surface, so I hope that means I'll get it done quickly.
right off the bat, you see the music fabric that I finsihed a top for recently.
I can make 1-2 other quilts from this group of fabric.
I'm leaving it out because I'd like to work on it when I get the two done on the design walls.
I have found floral stems - I've put away the floral stems.
Empty Cafe Vienna containers (I really need to figure out what to make out of these things) - I've stored them in the cabinet waiting for inspiration.
Shoes - they are in my closet.
Clay - it is in the craft cabinet.
More receipts- ready to be filed
More paperwork - sorted and ready to be filed.

The second bag has mostly paperwork, looks like things cleaned out from my purse.
I did find some socks and such from the car.
The receipts are being sorted and filed, but not tonight.

Maybe one day I'll be able to say what my friend Tammy said - "I don't have any bags or boxes that I need to go through."
I am working towards that and hope it happens in the near future.
I can't sleep, so why not go through some of the box?
This is from Texas State.
Some of it was food items, some brochures DD will need for college, Kleenex were put with the others, pens and pencils in their places, & shirt in DD's room
