Challenge Quilt

I have the top and bottom borders on.
I still need to figure out the corners because these 4 colors will not fit it well.
But, I have a plan for the rest, and the corners will work themselves out.
Hopefully, tomorrow I will have a finished top.

Challenge quilt

This has been on my design wall for a while now.

The sashing was cut and ready to sew together, but I just didn't get to it.

But I can't say that today.

The center is together.

Now to determine my borders.

I know I want HST in the border.

I don't know if I will use the bonus HSTs or not.

It needs to sit there a bit for me to decide.

Finished or Not Friday 2/23/2024

"Finished or not Fridays" is new to me.

I just did a post (on Sunday) that shows what I finished.

I had lots of small items I did, but nothing big was finished.

I also have a peach and green quilt I need to cut more for more variety.
I am delaying on this one and have no idea why.

I have all the sashing and cornerstones cut and ready to sew together for my challenge quilt, and I sewed the first three columns together.
I didn't have enough fabric to do something fancy, but I think the fabric to the side might work for one of the borders.
I'll try to use up some of the bonus hst and some of the other fabrics in the quilt.

The test quilt is loaded and being quilted.
I can't show photos, and it isn't done yet.

I have a progressive quilt I started in January 2020.
I'm trying to lay it out.
We don't have patterns to follow, but we have 3 examples.
I'm trying my daughter's version, and I'm not 100% thrilled with the layout.
It is too big for my design wall, so it is on the floor in my front room.😃
Any suggestions or ideas would be welcome.
I think I am modifying one of the examples because I have 8 too many log cabin blocks, and I want to use them.
I believe I have enough of the darker blue to add to the border.

I have a Kimberly Einmo quilt named Arrowheads on the design wall.
I thought I had more of them done, but...
Anyway this was started at a Houston Quilt Festival in 2019?
I'd like to get this together sooner rather than later.
It is Christmas fabric, so I have a few months to finish it.

Design Wall Monday 2/19/2024

Small Quilts and Doll Quilts Design Wall Monday

My first design wall has Arrowheads on it.

I took a class with Kimberly Einmo at the Houston Quilt Show.

My second design wall has The Challenge Quilt (purple, lime and black) on it.

I have the sashing ready to sew together.

I am still doing bonus HST to see if I can incorporate them into the borders.

I found the black fabric and hope it will work

The beautiful Dresden plate is also on this wall.

This will be put on the front of a tote bag I must make this week.

A Project Bag started long ago from an orphan block.
Made into a project bag.
I even used it this week.

Leftover pillowcases were on the UFO list.
It took no time to finish this project.

This is leftover from the Chili Pepper Quilt at least 3 years ago.
I had 4 HST left over and enough fabric to do something with.
So, I was going to make the lap quilt but decided to try making the large pot holder for a casserole dish.
I used the smaller HSt for a pot holder.
Everything seems to be smaller items, but I am getting them off my list.

The baby quilts are bound and finished.
Again, it's not very big, but it's finished!

The Christmas pillowcases are finished.
I think these are about 2 years old.

I also finished the Gnome Christmas ornaments.
Not much material, but they take time to do.
I enjoyed making these little ornaments.

Gnome Ornaments

Made my Gnome ornaments that have been sitting around for about a year.
So they are new UFOs but they were still started.

I started a fox pincushion tonight.
That should not take too long to complete.

Finished or Not Friday 2/16/2024

"Finished or not Fridays" is new to me.

I finished the binding on the Habitat For Humanity Quilt.

The Baby Quilts are bound and ready for gifting.

I also have a peach and green quilt I need to cut more for more variety.
I am delaying on this one and have no idea why.

I have all the sashing and cornerstones cut and ready to sew together for my challenge quilt.

I've been busy

The binding is done on the two baby quilts
I finished binding a Habitat for Humanity quilt too.
I don't see to have a photo of that one.

A friend drew more UFO numbers and it was this chili pepper leftovers.
I was going to make a small lap quilt but decided to try the large casserole cover and the pot holder.

I was on the phone this morning and couldn't sit still, so I made two pillowcases.
They are leftover from a project a few years ago.
They will be a Christmas gift or something.

I also went out to pick up retreat coupons and spent money.
I bought fabric, but most of it I have a plan for, or it's for DD's new stash.

Project Bag

This is another UFO I found this year in the back of a cabinet.

Why it was there, who knows.

But, it took be about an hour to finish.

It was made from an embroidered orphan block.

There is embroidery on the back, too.

The measurements are off, but it is done and will hold a project.

I've added my Gnome Christmas Ornaments to the bag.

It can be my hand-stitching bag.
