One Monthly Goal

My One Monthly Goal was an advent calendar.
I lost track of how wide it was and how heavy it gets with certain things in the pockets.
But, it is done.

Check out the other one monthly goals at Elm Street Quilts.

Postcards

Wreath postcards

I'm always amazed at how the background fabric changes the embroidey.
These are fun, immediate gratification projects.

Midweek Matters

Quilt Fabrication has us link up to midweek matters.
Check out the other links.
Well, most of my week has been doing some cutting to get ready for the quilting/hunting trip.
I have all the coasters cut and ready to press and sew.
I now need to finish the cutting on the Irish Stars.
I'd love not to take so much of the scraps with me, but we shall see.
I have 45 more stars and only 2 more 25 patches to go.
One of the 25 patches is almost done, so really only 1 more to cut for.
But, I'll take the background with me and cut there and have as many of the other colors already cut before I leave.

Learning Quilt a Long

Andree at quilt learning combo has a learning challenge going on monthly.
It has caused me to think about things I's like to learn and holds me accountable.

I wanted to work with the African Fabric and follow the design like a whole cloth quilt.
This might have been a mistake.

Well, the things I learned about myself.
1. I don't like the tiny detailed quilting on the long arm.
2. I like speed and overall quilting
3. I would need to do this for a long time to have the tiny motor control needed.
4. Straight lines are easier to do when you keep the machine against the ruler. :)
5. I don't mind short straight lines.
6. It is hard on the hands
7. I needed to have a plan before I started.

it is impossible to get a photo of how I'm stitching it because I'm using a burgundy color on this cloth.
Many straight lines.
Some fills in certain areas.

Advent Calendar

I still need #22, but it is loaded with the packages.
I used the brown paper that is between the warm and natural batting layers.
It is heavy.
I doubt it will fit on the door because I didn't trim it down.
It is too heavy to be on the door too.

Advent Calendar

I've bound the advent calendar.
This stated out to be a UFO that was to be a Christmas fabric quilt.
Used part of the pieces and made the pockets.

finally

Finished the Memory Quilt
I know they have at least 2 more that they wish to have done.
Working on the advent calendar.
I need to go buy more numbers -- need two 2's. :(

I've also make one more 25 patch.
Two more to go and all I have left are stars.
I hope to have most of them done by the week's end, if not, I'll take them on my hunting/quilting retreat.
It would be OK to put it all together on the retreat.
That would be wonderful.

Progress

Sparkling Sampler "Pieced" blocks are done.
I still have a couple of blocks cut out.
I'm not sure I'm going to get much done tomorrow.

Triactic Postcards are done, but I don't have the envelopes to mail them in or the right postage.
So, I'll mail when we return on Saturday.
Sparkling Sampler Block A are done in  pink.
Fancy Fox is done.
I had trouble understanding the pattern, and think it was all my brain.
So, I adjusted it and it will become a mug rug for DD's dresser.
Made a few more coasters.
I have many more of these to make.

Yesterday

I had to clean out the little machine
Look what a mess it was.
I don't use this machine much, so it needed it bad.
Fixed the block
Another set of coasters
10  stars and 10 25 patches.
Started block F of the sparkling sampler.
I think there are 4 pink stars.

Last 2 days I've finished 10 stars.
Now to keep working on more stars while working on other things.
Working on Sparkling Sampler Block L.
So many pieces.....

Good night.

Update

The week has been packing and cleaning.
Finished this table runner on the way to the game today.
We lost.
I'll quilt it when I return home.
I need to pull the one just like it and see how close I can get to the quilting of it.
cutting table is cleaned off.

Made these pincushions on the way to the game.
Need the center of both of them.
Will wait until I come home.
My basket that I put pieces in as I'm working is cleaned out.
Everything put away, until I started to fill it again. :)
Loaded Lana's quilt.
Not a very good photo.
Have one pass done.
I doubt it gets done before we leave in the morning, but it is started and that is a good thing.
Pressing table is cleaned off.
Underneath is organized.
Yes, it really is.
The bags are Quilts of Valor waiting to be quilted.
The blue one is done already.

No, the room is not the way I would like 100%, but it is better to come back to this than the way it was.
It's time to go through my magazines and books again.

I also need to figure out how to organize and store the jewelry making beads and miscellaneous stuff.

I'll be quilting away while we are gone.
I don't know that I'll actually finish much of anything, but....I will be getting closer to some of those big finishes.
