Friday

I needed a break from so many quilts, what is a girl to do?
I made masks.
I cut out 19 and all are to the stage where the nose piece is in and the turning spot topstitched over.
I made 4 to take to San Marcos tomorrow and will work on the others later.
Continuing to make pineapple blocks from 100% scraps and strings.
This is block #62.
I'll keep making them until I get to 96, or at least I think that is the spot.

Misc

Made a mask for a friend, and cut some more out.
More pineapple blocks made
Remember, they are all scraps and random placements.
I side view of the ones I've already made.
58 made.

The t-shirt quilt is ready to sew the columns together.

Hugs & Kisses quilt for a friend.
I need to figure out how to change the dark colors in the corner.

Pineapples are coming along.
I need to sew a bit more to get them done as leader/enders.

Best laid plans

Today was supposed to be a stay at home day.
But, that was changed when I received a call asking me to pick up fabric for donation.
No, I didn't keep any.
I made a couple of masks in the morning before the call.

Let's see, I went to Universal City, Tx for the fabric, drove it to New Braunfels, Tx to deliver to the SIL of the friend that takes the donations to the church ladies.
DS needed some air conditioner filters and a couple more food items, so off to Wal-Mart in new Braunfels.
He wanted a smoothie, so by Tropical Smoothies (they have the best smoothies ever).
He received a call asking him to work on a laptop, but since he is on self-isolation, he can't go and get it.
So, I went back to Universal City, TX, and picked up the laptop.
On to deliver everything in Schertz, TX.
Forgot to deliver the laptop and since we are not having contact, I didn't realize it until I received the phone call asking if I was going to fix it.
LOL
Turn around and go back and drop off the laptop.
Head home and collapse.
It was hot and it was too much on the road time.
I took a nap.
when I woke up from the nap, I made the sashing for the Braid quilt.

I worked on the pineapple block.
I have 54 of 90 made.

MIdnight Stargazer Block #3 & 4

The Fourth block for Midnight Stargazer is ready to sew.
Check out BOMquilts and find the Midnight Stargazer BOM Quilt.

I am making mine scrappy and trying to follow close to the fabric colors used by Tammy.
These are my six (6) Block 3 Union Star blocks.

These are my four (4) Block 3 Kansas Star blocks.

Design Wall Monday

I'm linking to Small Quilts and Doll Quilts Design Wall Monday, Cooking up Quilts, and Monday Makings.

The third T-shirt Quilt is started. I have the pieces in their columns so the length is close to the same.
Next is squaring up and adding framing as needed.
My pineapples are growing.
The braids are taking over. :)
I think I know I want more solid type of fabric for the sashing.
The prints were too busy.
Now to cut and get them ready to sew onto the braids.
I'd like to finish this one up this week.

I also have Stonehenge on the long arm.
I need to figure out what I'm quilting on it.

bandana

Made a bandana for September.
Daisies is the theme.

pineapple

I finished cutting the pineapple strips.
I think I'll wait a bit to cut more.
The boxes are getting full.
See the strips?
Clean Cutting Table.
Everything on there is being used regularly.
I'd like to figure out something to reduce the mess on the right, but that will be for a later time.
Just some eye candy with my braids and pineapples.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.
Gyleen Fitzgerald has some fun things happening on Facebook.

I'm working on some pineapple blocks (on the right), which are on the right-hand side.
I have 52 of them done.
This will become a quilt for DS.

I also have the braids ( on the left) quilt to finish.
I'm having trouble deciding what I want the sashing to look like.
I've not found what I want yet.
I might end up making a few more braids to make it larger too.

August Placemats

School starts on the 24th of August, so I did placemats with the school mascot.
This is counting as another UFO, actually two of them because the Embroider was ready for postcards and the wedges were from the Christmas tree skirt that I was planning on making something for DD.

Challenge progress

I am working away at my piles and cutting board challenge.
You can find the original post here.
I started with the mess on the left.
That was the pile of scraps from the string bin that needed to be trimmed to 1.5"
This is the pile closer up.
What happens when you cut to size?
You develop another pile. :(
This is the 1.5" strips that need to sub-cut for the pineapple block.
After cutting all those pieces into strips, I cleaned off the cutting mat.
I even added water to help with the healing of the mat.
You can see where I cut most of the time.
I even turn the mat to extend the life of the mat.

I started cutting into the required lengths (2.5, 3.5, 4, 5, 6, and 2)
Nice little piles of pieces that go into the container to make it easy to make these blocks.

I needed to do something else, and I still have this many 1.5" strips to process.
It takes time.
