H4H

I had two Habitat For Humanity quilts to bind.
I put them off for more than a month, but I finished the second one last night.
Whenever they want them dropped off, I can do that.

Ruler work and charity quilt

More ruler work.
I can't say I love it, but I can see where there are times when it would be great to have the right rulers.
Found a cable ruler, but I have to mark and I don't have the grid to mark it with.
So, I am going to need to order it.
I don't know if I will use it often, but I can see one quilt right now that I would love to use it on.
I have one more of these charity quilts to finish.
I don't think I'll do ruler work on it.

I made a few more masks because DS wanted a couple from the previous project.
The student came and picked up the masks.
He left me a beautiful plant with a nice thank you note.
I'm impressed with this young man.
It was a pleasure to do something for someone doing something for the elderly.
It's been a good week.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

Some of these are from scraps.
I did use some pieces of yardage that were less than half a yard for many of them.
I continued cutting from my scrap drawer for this quilt.
I think I need 20 more pieces of the long strip.
I am having some trouble finding scraps that big.

Update

I"ve not been very good at updating what I'm working on.
Like many of us are doing, I'm making masks.
These are to help a student at the High School my daughter went to with an IB program project.
He wanted to make masks for a nursing home.
He asked them how many they needed and they told him 55.
He said he only had supplies for 20.
He asked me if I would make 10.
So instead of just the 10, I made the 45 so he would have enough.
I need to find out how many he would need because I'm not sure if he is making 10 or 20.

Then, I changed modes and after staring at the Meme's Garden by Gyleen Fitzgerald from my Houston Quilt Festival class, I decided I was not thrilled with my choices for the flowers. I have another set of fabrics I think I might like better.
I also needed some placemats for DD's apartment for May.
May flowers sounds good to me.
so, I made the individual flowers (I had made 3) into placemats.
I will be making two for a couple I love, so the third will go to them.
I still need to make one more flower and then I can put the 4 placemats together.
I was worried that I would forget about how to do the wonderful no Y seam process, but with the instructions I had and muscle memory, I made one already.
I cut the other two out and will work on them today.

Charity quilts

Most of the time I just quickly quilt charity quilts.
One of my goals for April was to use the rulers I bought from my friend, Debbie.
I don't normally do any ruler work, but I thought it might be good for my brain to try it.
I know this will take lots of practice.
These are the rulers I used.
I'm so sure I like stitch in the ditch, but this ruler helps with the process.
I like the round and oval rulers.
I found you can not let up the pressure on them when you move your hand.
They move if you do.
I outlined the blocks and then did some type of round or oval in each block.
Those stripes make taking a photo difficult.

UFO Simple Pleasures

I called this Let Me Surprise You Just a Little because that was the name of the class.
The real name of the project is Simple Pleasures by Charlotte Angotti.
It is bound and ready to be washed and donated.
I forgot to say this way my OMG for April.
Finally finished one.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

I finished the quilt, but it is a test quilt, so I can't share with you yet.
I made masks using some larger scraps
I've been cutting out some scraps for a quilt for a friend of DS.

Birthday Postcards

Sheree sent me this cute postcard.
I love the way she embellished it.

Barbara sent me this wonderful flip flop postcard.

Thank you for the birthday wishes.

Let Me Surprise You just a little

The quilting is done.
This is from the Houston Quilt Festival last year.
It was with Charlotte Angotti and is named Simple Pleasures.
I'm debating what I want to bind it in.

Update

The days seem to blend together and I wonder what I've accomplished.
I think I'm spinning my wheels.
The weather has my head hurting and I'm crocheting more
DD's apartment door will need a new wreath soon.
This one is for May.
I need to figure out the placemats quickly too.

I've made more masks
I've tried a number of different patterns, so this has been interesting.
These are made with a halter style and uses the T-shirt material.

I am quilting a UFO and will be done with it soon.
I might even get it bound by the end of the month.
