Design Wall Monday

  I'm linking to

Would you believe I have nothing on my design walls?
I finished what I was working with and have not decided what goes up next.

I'm making coasters
They don't go on the design wall, so....
It's a mystery what will be next.

There was a shop hop this past week.
DH wanted a road trip and this took us 338 miles.
Even though I finished three quilt bindings, I bought more than I used.
This is the one I'm working on now.
It is loaded to be quilted.
The Map quilt was fun and easy and from the scrap drawers too.
I love this bargello.
This is my first and I know I'll make another one.
Midnight Stargazer is completed too.
All three were UFOs

Much of the fabric will be used in the next few months.

A couple of other fun facts are:

I need to work on organizing a bit longer each time.
Until Graduation is over for DD, I think I will be sewing or doing minor organization.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

Midnight Stargazer is done and is all from my scrap bins.
The outside blocks were from my scraps.

Bargello

I forgot to show the finished quilt.
I love this quilt.

Coasters

 An easy gift is coasters.

DD is ending her internship on the first of May.

She asked me to make coasters for everyone in the facility.

The first five sets are done.
I want to make 40 for her in case there are others she wants to gift.

Wildflower Shop Hop

My DH needed a road trip, he graciously took me on the Wildflowers All Around Shop Hop.

It took all day to get to four shops, but what a day it was.

I was looking for some backing fabrics and found the two I needed.
Then, that purple panel and 2 yards of fabric just jumped into my arms.
The cork fabric is planned for a couple of projects.
It will be used next month.
The world fabric and the ombre are for two bags
They will be used this month.
The pretty turquoise is another one that just had to come home with me.
I found a neat book for items from Annies.
It would cost more than the $10 if I bought it off the website.
The black is cork for another bag
The pop-up container is for a friend.
The tracing wheel is something I wanted to try.
A pressing cloth for applique
Tweezers because mine is not working as well.
The True Grips for my rulers that move.

I spent more than I wanted.
I think about 8 yards of fabric doesn't have an immediate use.
I'll do my best to use it quickly.

My stash usage won't be terribly impacted because I finished..

The Map quilt.
I bound it last night.
and
Midnight Stargazer

Since DH drove, I bound it while traveling to the four quilt shops.
I have the rainbow bargello about half bound too.
So, by the time I finish those bindings and get the fourth one done, my fabric purchases will not impact my fabric usage.
I was hoping to show more usage, but....fabric has to be bought sometimes.

Map quilt

Not a great photo, because I can't turn the lights on or use the flash.
It's too late and I don't wish to wake my DH.
If I remember, I'll take one later.
It is finished and ready.
First of Four.

Trimmed and Binding

Quilts are trimmed and ready for binding.

The binding is made for two of the quilts
I used leftover binding for two of them.
The third binding needs pressing.

All need the binding attached.
My husband is driving me on the Bluebonnet Shop Hop tomorrow.
I think we will probably do it in two days instead of one.
I'll be able to bind as long as my hands hold out.

Third UFO Quilted

I did swirls on the bargello.
I used different bobbins on the back, so it is rainbowish too.

One more border and this top is done.

A Little Bit Taller Tree is on the wall waiting to be paper pieced.

First UFO Quilted

The first graduation quilt is quilted.

I think it is pretty.
This is for someone doing graduate work in England.
She wants to travel, so it seems perfect.

I got the second inside pillow sewn for the floor pillow.
I don't have a good photo of it.

I have been doing great at working on small things every day for organizing.
My sewing time seems to be fairly consistent.
Some days it is a small amount, but others I sew all day.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

I have not done specific scrappy projects this week.
I am stuffing a floor pillow with scraps, does that count?

Update

It might not be quilting, but this crochet project took forever to stitch together.
I had safety-pinned every block side together and it was interesting to make sure to sew each of those sides. LOL
But, it is done.
Love the colors.

This project is tiny hexagons.
Since they are so small and the fabrics are not cotton, it is difficult to get them to stay glued to the tiny cardstock.
I'm using the wonder clips to keep them together.
I sewed one last night
Some of those sides still need to be held together.
This will be something that is framed, so I hope I can put it all together.
It is made from clothing.

Design Wall Monday

    I'm linking to

I have figured it out enough to have the center ready to sew together.
Now on to the borders.

The top and backing are made.
I wanted to quilt it on Tuesday, but I just couldn't do it.
I had a bad night of sleep and didn't want to risk it.
Maybe on Wednesday

I spent two of the days working on projects for graduation.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

I have some postcard swaps and the first place I look is my scrap drawer.

Then, my little foxy pincushions come from scraps first.

Perfect Day!

I started the day off with some sewing of the strata for the rainbow quilt.
I finished the last one just a bit ago.
I don't feel I should be cutting tonight, so it will wait until tomorrow.

Then, I made a set of postcards for a future swap.
I'm ahead of the game.

Then, it was off to lunch with dear friends.
Of course, we ate at Hays County BBQ in San Marcos, TX.
Martha had a birthday in March and we were not able to get together.
Since mine is this month, we celebrated today.

Look at my birthday gifts.
the necklace worked so well with the outfit I wore today.
Martha had one too,
We are twins!

Martha's daughter made these amazing bluebonnet earrings.

I can't wait to wear them.

We are so blessed with Martha and Ross in our lives.

To think we met at a football game 4 years ago.
We became fast friends when Martha asked me "want to be my friend on Facebook?"
I have so missed our lunches together.
Thanks for a beautiful day and a memorable birthday!
