My purple scraps are now nice and neat.

1.  Tote Bag/Pillow
So, I found the mesh and pattern.
Still no progress on this one.
3. Purple quilt
This is my center.
A tiny white border will allow for the piano keys to not overpower
  Top is sewn together.
All of the piano keys came from my 5" cut drawer.
I didn't pull anything from the shelves.
I added all the extra purple fabric into my stash.
I have a wide back that works.
Now to get the batting cut and the quilt loaded.
I hope to quilt it tomorrow.
4. Musical name plateI
.Ready to sandwich and quilt it.
5. World Quilt
I have half the binding sewn down.

This is what it looked like early afternoon.

Look at what it looked like at sunset.

Clouds are so beautiful.
Wouldn't that make a nice quilt?

Prairie Moon Organization

Time for Prairie Moon's challenge.
Last week was to clean out a storage area.
I picked my corner cabinet.
Well, I got it started, and found some larger pieces of batting and lots of smaller pieces.
Some really strange batting that I have not idea what I used it for.
I think I am going to make some pillow forms out of it.
I cleaned out enough to get my pillow forms in the cabinet.
I still have some other batting to find a home for.
I really need a project to use up batting pieces.

This week is
Clean out a fabric bin
I have lots of scrap bins.
They are organized by color and going through them is not helpful if I'm not using them.
That being said, I'm working on one of my scrappy UFOs that uses purple and white.
I started cutting and organizing the purple bin today.
I am now working on the white.
They both still need to be cut from, so they will be my challenge.
Just started cutting from this one.
The back pile is what still needs to be gone through.
The front is how the bin looks now.

progress

It's beginning to take on the look.
I have hst to make.
Seems I didn't over make them in this UFO.
This is actually the parts from a quilt I made 6 years ago.
I had enough of the 54/40 blocks
I had half of the plain purple squares
I had some 4 patches.
I had some 4 patch strips ready to cut and sew.
I am using my purple scrap bin and will pull out the white when I get done with the purples.
It will truly be a scrappy UFO.

My hips are bothering me today, so I'm not sure how the long arming is going to feel.
The world quilt might not be quilted today.

to do push

1.  Tote Bag/Pillow
So, I found the mesh and pattern.
2.  Book shelf quilt
Just needs to be bound.
3. Purple quilt
This is difficult to put together.
My brain was not working well enough last night.
4. Musical name plate
I'll add some music fabric around the name and that should do it.
5. World Quilt
It's loaded and should be able to quilt it today.
Just needs to be quilted and bound.

Only about 9 more days to finish all these.
It's happening, but I need to focus more during the daytime.
Yesterday was a good day.

Project update

1.  Tote Bag/Pillow
So, I found the mesh and pattern.
2.  Book shelf quilt
Just needs to be quilted and bound.
3. Purple quilt
Have a UFO that I can make.
4. Musical name plate
Need to figure this one out.
Should be embroidered, so shouldn't be too bad.
5. World Quilt
Just needs to be quilted and bound.

Only about 10 more days to finish all these.
It's happening, but I need to focus more during the daytime.

If I can get one or two quilted tomorrow, then I'd have something to bind while waiting for DD.

My magazine sorting is going well.
I just had too many magazines.
I'm down to one crate and still have them in the car to go through when waiting.

Bookshelf Wall Hanging

OK, so the books are on the shelves.
Wall fabric was picked by DD.
It is ready to quilt.
21" x 55"
It became larger than I thought it was going to be.

Stash enhancing

so much for not going to the quilt shops.
A friend from CA shopped for me.
54 .75 yards later....
I love the fabrics, but it sure hurts my stash busting exercies.
Guess I'd better get busy and quilt fast.

Lovely year of finishes

This is what I started off with.
This is what I ended up with for the girls

DD came up with this idea for the boys.

It was interesting to do this, but nice to finish one of my UFO projects in time.

It will make the quilt look nicer, so that is OK

I need to add the background to the books and then sew them together.
I think I need to make a bookend somehow.
4. Purple quilt

slow progress

Not as much done as I'd like in the sewing area, but the front room is put back together.
Laundry is done.
Had a great time with DD today.

2.  Tote Bag/Pillow
3.  Book shelf quilt
Printed off the spines of books DD wanted for the bookshelf quilt/wall hanging.
A24. Purple quilt
A1 5. World Quilt
I did get one side of the next border on and trimmed the other border to the right size.
This will allow me to keep the pattern close to what it was supposed to be.
I'll keep working on it for tomorrow.

Rain

I worked on this a little this morning.
I decided to cut the compasses two at a time.
I don't like fussy cutting things, so the pain is less and I can see some progress.
When I get two more done, I can trim the top and bottom borders to match.
That will fix my cutting problem with the center.

It is raining and raining and raining.
DD is playing in the rain.
Our side yard has a gutter DH put a hole in to drain the water.
Guess we need one of those concrete things there or gravel or something.
The other side has lots of bushes.
Off our back porch.
She is so happy.
She's shaking like a dog.  LOL

It's nice to see her having carefree time.
She is in the shower.
I did a little cleaning.
Laundry is on.
Two booster things are done.
I think it is time to sew.

organization ideas

One of my quilt groups had this from a long arm quilter.
She has soem interesting ideas.
Check it out.

Prairie Moon Organization Challenge

Clean out a storage area

Praririe Moon has us doing the challenge to organize our studio.
No, I don't need it to do things, but it sure is fun to join in others and hear what people do.

Cleaning out a storage area.
My studio has lots of storage, so I could pick a number of them.
I don't have lots of time, so I picked this corner unit.
As you can see, I have lots of fluffy stuff in here.
I'm not totally sure what is in there, so it is time to see if there are pillows, batting, fiberfill, or what in there.
I'll be able to use it if I know it is there.
