I'm so excited

This has nothing to do with quilting.

We just found out that DD was accepted into the Masters of Social Work Program at Texas State University!!!!
Her Dad and I are so proud of her!

I had to share!

Something Mom Loves.
My Mom loved to read.

I made a mesh beach bag.
It has an open pocket and then a zippered pocket attached to the side seam
There are lots of pockets on the outside too.
It was a free pattern that was well written.
The one thing I had trouble with was sewing the bottom to the bag, but it worked.
I had mesh laying around and used it.
I kept thinking oh, these would be fun to make for friends.
I have a black mesh still in my studio, so only one more is being made.
I don't need to buy anything else for the time being.

I was home more this week and did better until my tummy was upset all day yesterday.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

Friday sew day

Working on some postcard swaps

Fixed the two blocks that I had messed up the placement of two segments.
Now, I need to get the rest of the blocks made so I can continue with the pattern.

Monday Design Wall

   I'm linking to

I found one of these embroidered and decided to go ahead and stitch them all out.
Now to find the emerald green fabric to match the thread and put it into a quilt.

The blue is a paper-pieced block that I am going to make the house as the back of the trees.
It will be a reversible mug rug.

It took me over a half-hour to restitch the one block and I have one more to correct.

I need to make most of these blocks.
all of the pieces are under the sample block.

I think this will be fun to make once I get the corrections made.

Home

I had some things from retreat that I didn't get to complete.

I made a couple of pincushions.

Table topper

Catching up on postcards.

This is the outer part of a floor pillow for DD.
I'm making the inners of it to stuff with all the leftover pieces of batting, fabric, etc.

I hope we are home for awhile and I can post more consistently.

Retreat

The New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild had our retreat and it was safe and fun.

Two of my friends joined the guild and joined us at the retreat.

This is the way my car looked before they got their stuff in it.
I wish I had taken a photo of the packed car.
We had lots less stuff in it when we came home.
I could see out the back. LOL

Our stop before the retreat at Lively Bistro in Salado, TX.

Lanica is a beginner and she completed this quilt top at the retreat.
It was so much fun having my friends with me.
