Tablerunners are done

All 20 are complete.
All from the stash.
All somewhat different, even though some of the same fabrics were used in them.
I had a limited variety of red fabrics, so they have the most duplicate use.

Still have a couple of things to do tomorrow and of course to get packed for the overnight.

I'm getting excited.

Table runners

DD turned all of them.
This is a time savings for me!
Plus, that is the least favorite part of the birthing process.
This morning I'm pressing and then sewing.
Seems sewing is hurting my arms a bit, could it be the new exercise routine?
2/20 done!

Lana's quilt

Isn't this pretty?
I quilted swirls on it with orange thread.
Finished the binding last night.

Table runner update

I was having trouble determining which backing went to which top.

I decided to lay the tops out and place the backing with the top.
That way I knew which ones would have different backings from the fabric in the top.
Some used red, some gray, depending on my fabric.
I am moving along.
About half are in the stage that needs trimmed before birthing.

I decided to trim all at once and that way I don't have to think too much. :)

On to finishing these today.

Design Wall Monday

I'm linking to Small Quilts Doll Quilt's Design Wall Monday and Monday Makings

My main focus this week is these table runners for my 45th high school reunion.

batting found

I wish I'd taken a before photo of all the batting I had and the mess.
But, I didn't.
Here is the stack of table runners with their batting pieces.

I had to piece some, and there were many too small.
I used the smaller ones to cut out the coaster batting.
That back scratcher was my Daddy's.
I need to make coasters for a couple of other groups.

The next step for the table runners is to find some backing fabrics.
Not all will match the fabric on the front because I used what I had.
But, the back will either be red or gray.

Both have been quilted, but I can't show you a photo yet.
Both are bound.

We donated 3 more boxes of items.
I still have lots of room for the items that are out in my studio that will be able to be behind doors.

Lana's quilt

Quilted this with orange thread for a dear friend.
I'm going to help her out a little more and bind it for her.

Sad experience

I just need to talk about something here.
It's not to be political and it makes me sad.

I hate to think that our world is so closed off that they can not support those around them, anyone.

I hate to think that businesses take political sides.
They may believe that what they are doing is for the best, but by taking a political side, you are excluding those that do not believe as you do.

I believe every individual has the right to believe and support those politicians they wish to.
I don't think that business should do that.

I was sad today when I found out that a site was completely pushing one side of their membership away because of the personal belief of someone in charge.
I won't support a business that is in that mode.
I was looking forward to enjoying a crafting experience with other crafters, but that won't happen if there is a company wishing to divide us.

I have many friends who are on the opposite side of the political environment.
I don't agree with most of their political views.
I do believe we have good relationships in the crafting aspect of our world.
Just because we don't agree politically doesn't mean we can't be friends or can't enjoy quilting or other crafts together.

It just makes me sad to know a business is trying to influence to the point that they push people away.

I'm not going to state which company this was, so please don't ask.

I will ask that if you put anything on the blog, please encourage instead of divide.
If someone does post something politically divisive, I will delete the post.

Let's all learn to get along and stop taking political sides to the extreme.
Be happy and quilt on.

Table runners

All 19 tops are finished.
1 table runner finished.
Now on to the batting and backing.

Stash Report

quilt paint create links to all our stash reports

In doing What's in the Box (WITB) I gave away over 5 yards of fabrics.
Most were fleece and things I'd never use, or have not used in 15 years.
I then had some fabric I took to goodwill because it just was not that good for the "church ladies".
I also finished 3 of my own quilts, so my numbers are really good.

Mahjongg

Not a great photo, but Mahjongg is finished.
I love the focal fabric.
This was a kit, so I think if I were to do it again, I'd change out some of fabrics for more contrast.
Another UFO done!

Garden Diamonds

I test patterns for TQPM, and this pattern is going to be in the next issue.
Garden Diamonds in top form.
Finished!

Missing in action

It seems like the last few days have been crazy.

Wednesday I had my eye dilated.
I'm glad I did something before the appointment.
Then there was car troubles after the appointment.
The day was taken over with must do items.

Thursday was a day of running around and spending time with friends.
I didn't get much done around my studio, but a little was done.

I'm not going anywhere today!!!

Got the binding sewn on the two test quilts.
Here they are ready to take with us tomorrow when we go to the Salt Lick to celebrate Father's Day.
My husband didn't want to go last Sunday, so we will celebrate tomorrow.

Starting to load a quilt for Lana.
I'll work on it while I do some of the table runners.

Today

I did finish up the quilting on the two test quilts.
But, I can't show them yet.

This photo is showing 3 of the tablerunner tops done and a 4th laid out.

Tomorrow is a day for an eye appointment, so I don't know what I'll get done yet.

Design Wall Monday

I'm linking to Small Quilts Doll Quilt's Design Wall Monday and Monday Makings

Backing covering the two baby quilts I tested.
This is where all the table runners are waiting to be pieced.
Everything is cut and pinned together.
The top brown is from the class I took on Saturday.
They will be going into the container to be worked on AFTER I finish the must do items.

Motivational Monday

9-15 June 2019

1. Mug Rug

2. Baby clothing quilt stabilized
I've started to work on it 30 minutes at a time.
Hopefully I'll be able to get some progress on the clothing.
I plan to use it as the leader/ender from here on out.

3. WITB
Going through this craft closet I've found so many boxes of things that needed to be passed on.
Found a few non-quilting UFOs too.
It is a good feeling to know that they will be used by other Girl Scouts.
The cabinet to the right will need the same treatment, but should be a little simpler.
I need to go through the drawers to the left too.
I found lots of fleece that is going to the church ladies.
Some cotton fabric that had been used as curtains (about 6 yards)
This big giveaway is being dropped off on the 17th, so it will be out of the house and puts me more towards my goal of donating more fabric.

4.  Quilt CIL

5. Keep up with the Marvelous mini mystery
It is done!

6. Quilt Majhongg

7. Postcards (Unicorn Favorite Dessert, Window, Lottery, Bicycle)

All caught up on postcards!
One more came out this week.

8. Table decoration for reunion 1/20 done
All the embroidery is done.
All the pieces are cut.
I decided to just make them all the similar pattern and make it easier on me.
I'd have more fun if I had made different ones, but.....

9. Class topper/Tutti Frutti

10. Madam Mim

16 - 22 June 2019

1. Mug Rug

2. Baby clothing quilt stabilized

3. WITB

4.  Frankenbatt for CIL

5. Table decoration for reunion 1/20 done

6. Bind Majhongg

7. Postcards - Hens

8. Quilt a test quilt

9. Continue to go through crafting closets for donation and organization

Mahjongg

This is another UFO.
It is quilted the flowers were from the focus fabric.
I think this must have been a kit because I don't think I'd have picked that background fabric.
But, I like it.
