Christmas at the apartment

Not a good photo, but the tree skirt is under their tree.
Diesel is under the upstairs tree.
This is the pet tree.
Diesel is such a good dog.
I think she thinks of DD as her fun Aunti and follows her around most days.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Finished projects for DD

I keep forgetting to post these photos.
4 placemats and a table topper using a pattern I bought at Festival
Microwave bowl potholders.
The girls in the apartment with DD love using hers, so I made some for them for Christmas.
Bags and kleenex travel covers for DD's roommates.
I think the red and green one is my favorite.

Prairie Moon de-cluttering challenge

I  must have missed a post because I didn't know that Prarie Moon was doing the decluttering challenge again.
I've seen someone talking about it on another group, but I thought they were following along from the previous list.
I love to follow along because it makes me more accountable.

Her challenge for November is:

Pick one thing you’ve been procrastinating on doing, and DO IT!

This section of my studio is forever getting messy.
I know that when I clean it up, I'll mess it up again.
I'm not even sure what is in this mess, so I'll work on this one.

Since I have today to do it, I'll only pick this spot.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and family.

Image result for happy thanksgiving"

We are having our immediate family over this year.

Randy has been up getting the turkey in the oven and making a wonderful dinner.

I'm blessed to have him love to cook!

Have a blessed day filled with great food and great companionship.

Quilted

I finished quilting the pink horse quilt.
It still needs to be trimmed and bound.

I was able to get 3 of the placemats on the end of the pink horse quilt backing fabric.
I then needed to unload the placemats and quilt and load more of the green backing fabric.
Finished quilting the last placemat and the table topper.

I'll show a photo of the complete set when I get the last two bound.
I'm binding by machine, and I can't say I like it any better than before.
LOL
But, done is done.
All of these fabrics were out of the Christmas scrap bin.

Baby Boy Clothing

The quilt is bound and ready for a label.
I'm waiting to see what is wanted on the label.

Christmas Placemats

I bought this Hex-a-ma-jig at the Houston Quilt Festival.
I made a table topper.
This is only the top, but I have a plan to quilt it.
I made 4 placemats for DD's apartment.

They are easy to make and fun.
All of the fabrics came out of my Christmas Scrap Drawer.

I might need to make some for myself.

Design Wall Monday

I'm linking to Small Quilts Doll Quilt's Design Wall Monday and Monday Makings.
I'm making progress, slowly but surely.
Been doing more handwork than machine work.
I love this quilt.

I can't show the other design wall.
It has the test quilt partially done one it.
I didn't get it finished, but I still have all the pieces and need to make the quilt.
I'll have to wait to show it when the pattern is published.

It is nearing the end of the year.
I know I have about 10 yards in one of the quilts I'm binding now, so I'm sure I'll meet my goal
I have lots of smaller projects to make up too.

I'm amazed at what cleaning out your cabinets can do for the goals.

It is another UFO.

Wreaths

I spent most of the day working on Christmas and January wreaths.
This will be for DD's door in January.
I modified the instruction and added some ribbon under the snowflakes.
Next time I'll put the inside flakes on first. :)
The December Wreath for the door for DD's apartment
I had poinsettias and silver ribbon and ornaments for this one.
For DD's bedroom door.
She saw these poinsettias at Hobby Lobby and wanted a wreath.
I almost ran out of ribbon, so the bow is a bit small.
I had a small wreath form and leftover poinsettias, so I made another wreath.
I had a small wreath form and leftover snowflakes and greenery, so this was created.

A little sewing was done, but no finishes yesterday.

Harry Loves Alice

My dear friend, Tammy, has a BOM going on named Harry Loves Alice.

“Harry Loves Alice” 2019 Free BOM Quilt Pattern designed by TK Harrison from BOMquilts.com

The quilt is finished for 2019.

This is my version of Harry Loves Alice.
I used a different, very different FQ set for my test quilt.

The blocks are fairly easy to make, so if you are just looking at it, you can still make the quilt.

Thanks for checking it out.

Christmas Tree Skirt

Not perfect, but it is quilted and now to trim and find a binding that will work.

Sunday, November 17, 2019

It is quilted!

It is quilted!
Now to unload, trim and bind.
I'm thrilled that this is done!

Stash Report

Between mojo not being with me and lots of longer-term projects, I did not get anything done.
I made a pocket for my DH's shoulder protector and that was it.
When I actually get something done, it will be lots of fabric used.
I have so many things waiting.

Presents

I've not finished much this week.
Well, only a project DH needed me to do for him.
Our guild had a FQ challenge and this is what I got back
I pretty Christmas Table Topper
and
Two potholders
I'm keeping one here and sending one to DD's apartment

My pincushion for November was from Turid from Norway.
She sent this pretty pincushion and some tiny hexagons.
I have more things to practice with.

I'm thrilled with my presents.
THANK YOU both!

Let Me Surprise You

This one is in a top, if I don't add a border to it.
I'm just not sure what color to add.
This was a kit, so I don't have any of the fabrics leftover.

My test quilt is not going to be finished.
Since I would be late because of the problems I am having and my schedule, they said to just wait and test when I'm less crazy.
That was nice of them.
I feel bad, but what can you do?
I've been working on it for the past week and a half and am not done with the blocks yet.

So, now I'm off to quilt the baby clothing quilt.
The light on my long arm is out.
It was working, but not now.
So, the big lights are on and I'm working my way through.
I'm having trouble tonight.
We shall see how long I can keep at it.
Wish me luck.

Design Wall Monday

I finished the flimsy for the blue tree skirt.
Now to quilt it.
I'm using the Let Me Surprise you as a leader/ender on a test quilt.
It is coming together.
I need this off the design wall so I can layout the test quilt.
the test quilt is taking more time because of pressing the seams open.

I'm linking to Small Quilts Doll Quilt's Design Wall Monday and Monday Makings.

Veterans Day

To all the Veterans Past, Present and Future.

Thank you for your service.

Hobo Bag

I had a great class with Nancy.
Lana and I went to the class together and had fun with 8 other ladies.
What a great day.
I enjoyed the technique, except for breaking 2 needles at the very end.
The purse is very thick.
I think my strips needed to be a tad bit longer, but it is my prototype.
I'd like to find some buttons to work on the front and back.

Wreath making

Well, they have a November wreath for the door.
It is much bigger than I thought it was going to be.
Guess I made my loops too big, but the girls seem to like it.
That is what counts.
No, I did not add lights.
That is the sunlight in the photo.

Sunday Stash Report

I worked on lots of things this week, but not much was accomplished.
But, I did have spools of thread used up with the embroidery machine.

The Three different quilts made with the individual blocks.

     Charlotte Angotti
               Karen Stone
                 Kimberly Einmo

Then they swap blocks and have to come up with their own design. These are the results.

Kimberly Einmo
          Karen Stone
                 Charlotte Angotti

I think I got the right names with the right quilts. If I don't, please let me know.

It was a great luncheon and an amazing group of ladies.
