Framed 4-patches

This another UFO that came from Carol.
She gave me most of the framed 4 patches that needed little done on the blocks.
I had to find two more to fit with the color scheme.
I loved the fushia batik that I found to match some of the fabric in the 4 patches.
One more UFO DONE

3 more blocks to make and to figure out the setting I want to use.

Love the colors.

I can't show the test quilt on the second design wall, but here are the scraps from cutting it out.

Saturday happenings

The guild did a charm pack challenge.
We turned in a charm pack an someone made something for us.
Isn't this a charming rag purse?
Used the leader ender method to get the top put together.
This is a strange UFO as in it was lots of pieces that were patriotic.
I think it turned out OK.
The next UFO I'm working on is from December 2003.
Cozy Kitten yahoo group is no longer, but this was a block of the month.
I have no idea why I didn't finish it, but only 3 more blocks to go and I have the instructions and fabric.
I'm excited to work on this one.
I love the colors.
Not a good photo, but this is my table runner.
I need to find a backing and get it sewn together.

Guild was wonderful today, except my 3 buddies were not there.
They were missed, but I sat and talked with a few of the members.

Red work quilted

This one is quilted and ready to trim.
I need to finish something on the cutting table first.

Test Quilt

Today is a rainy day.
This is my view between rain storms.
I don't have any appointments - Yea!
I am staying in and getting the test quilt on its way!
I can't show you the pattern or the finished quilt until it is published, but here are some of the pieces.
I love that black print with the scrolls.

I'm also using the patriotic quilt as a leader ender so I can have that design wall when I need it for the test quilt.

Framed 4 patches

Cable people were over, so I  had to keep myself busy.
When they were not in my computer and machine area, I put this together.
I really like it.
I now need to figure out the backing and get this quilted this week.

Design Wall Monday

I'm linking to Small Quilts Doll Quilt's Design Wall Monday and Monday Makings.

My framed 4 patches are all completed and trimmed.
The fushia fabric is cut for alternating squares.
It will not be a big quilt, but a nice lap quilt size.
Found the green fabric in my stash to use for the border.
The binding will be in the fushia.

The patriotic UFO is coming along.
Working on getting the sashing in white cut and ready to sew.
I think I will use a patriotic fabric for the cornerstones.

My table runner has not budged a bit.
I probably will use it as a leader/ender when the 4 patch is done.

Updates

I finally got my camera to download to my computer.
So, let's see if I can update what I have been doing while the computer has been misbehaving.
This is that old quilt that I had that I finally quilted and bound.
I don't seem to have the finished quilt photo, so I need to take one soon.
Quilted the 4 guild charity quilts.

I've been cutting out a test quilt that is large.
It's been taking lots of time.

My redwork UFO top is done
I still need to quilt and bind it
My landscape post card was a bluebonnet on a green field.
Bluebonnets are now gone, but they were gorgeous.
It was a fun card to make.

I am still working on the framed 4 patch blocks
I don't like the fabric I had in with these blocks, so I bought a fuchsia color for alternate blocks.
I am working to get all the blocks done and trimmed then will decide if they will be on point of not.

The baby clothing quilt #2 is coming along
This one has more that do not need to be stabilized, so that is one less step.
I'm about ready to start sewing them together to begin the block process.

I'm still doing WITB.
I found patterns, fabric, felt and of course paperwork.
I've been dealing with all that as I do a bag or box.

With the studio challenge being paper this month, I might actually make some progress.

I'll try to stay updated on the blog, but life has been crazy lately.
Seems to me that being retired has not slowed my days down any.
But, as long as I'm having fun, I think it is a good thing.

Off to do something in this studio and maybe take an item off my to do list.

Prairie Moon Studio Challenge

IT's time for another studio challenge from Prairie Moon. It's paper.
This is a never ending battle for me.
I can't download photos right now, so I'll have to make one big post when I get back up and running.

hi

Well I wanted to say I should be back up and running in a couple more days.
Both computers were causing troubles. Laptop is now running, but I hate trying to figure it all out on here.
Soooo, waiting on the files and all to get back on the desktop from having to reformat everything.

You know how that goes, so then all the programs will need to be uploaded and hope that everything goes well.

I'm quilting away, and cleaning away while I am basically without the computer.

Check email on the website is soooooooooo slooooooowwwww. I can't do it for long because I get frustrated. Consequently, if you have tried to reach me on the email and I've not responded, you know why.

Hopefully I'll be able to show you what I've accomplished this week.

Design Wall Monday

I'm linking to Small Quilts Doll Quilt's Design Wall Monday and Monday Makings.

Something new on the design wall.
This the framed 4 patches.
I'm finishing framing some of them and will then decide on what to do with them.
I'm not sure I like the print that was in the UFO bag, so I will probably have to find a new border piece.
The greens will be sashing.
sometimes I wonder about my choices combined in the UFO bags.
I thought I had 4 of the HST in red on the third row. I just wonder if it is hiding somewhere.
When I find it or make another, I'll add in strips to get to the 12" block, probably of white with a blue center cornerstone.
