Prairie Moom

My challenge for Prairie Moon was to work on the batting and the T-shirts.
I did go through the batting.
It is sorted by type and somewhat by size.
I don't really have very large pieces left, which is a good thing.
I either need to go about piecing it together or finding another use for it.
I at least can walk around it without cringing.
T-shirts are being dealt with by making T-shirt yarn.
That is going to take some time, but it is started and I have 4 colors growing into yarn.

Light bag

DH needed another bag for a light and cords.
Made this one a little different and added a button.

Scrap Happy

So Scrappy Happy Saturday has us post what scrappy projects we are working on.
The HST quilt.
Need to finish making the HST and then adjust the placement.
Pixie Garden still has 2 more blocks to applique and then check to see if I need to embroider anything else.
Quilty Fun is ready for me to make it a rectangle the opposite direction.
I'm going to be adding some blocks to the top and bottom to finish it up.

Most of what I do now is UFOs and using up my scraps.
I seem to have lots of patterns I would like to make out of scrappy things.
I'm sure there are other projects out that fit this, but these are the ones in the forefront.

Saturday

DD and I are First Aid/CPR trained.
Woo Hoo.
So, nothing done yet.
I am going to make DH another bag for a different light. :)
We shall see if this goes together easier this time around.
I would like to load a QOV tonight so when I can quilt it I can just quilt.
When I need a break, I'm making T-shirt yarn.
I'm separating it by color.
When I finish the cutting, or the bag is full, I'll sew the ends together so it will be a little more smooth than if I tie a knot to join them.
After that, I think I'll be making some rugs out of the yarn.
They should stand up for a long time.
I have lots of T-shirt leftover pieces, so this is a long term project.

I'm happy to have it done.

Patriotic quilt

The patriotic quilt is quilted.
Swirls done a little bit differently.
I love swirls.
Binding is leftover binding pieces in red and blue.
I'll be working on it during the trip to Corpus Christi, TX tomorrow.

I may have a scrap problem

I don't know that I've linked up to confession of a fabric addict.
So, let's start with my November plans.
I have a number of things that are not scrap projects, but I'd love to finish the following:
HST Quilt
Patriotic quilt
Baby Boy clothing quilt (it won't be finished, but make great progress on it.)
Pixie Garden
Gypsy Wife
Quilty Fun

They are all in process, but I need to get them done and finished and out of my studio. :)

There might be other things, but those are the key ones this week.

I ended up with huge headaches this week and didn't succeed in lots of things, not only quilting.

So, my new list includes
1. Work on T-shirt quilt

3. Work on applique pixie garden

1. Quilt Patriotic quilt
2. Bind Patriotic quilt
3. Finish making HST for wedding quilt.
4. Start Shadowing the T-shirts
There might be other things, but those are the key ones this week.

OMG

My OMG for October was the Sunkissed #2
I knew I wanted to get the background put together, but I was not sure about the applique.
I accomplished the background and prepping some of the applique.
I'm still not done with Pixie Garden, so I don't really have the ability to have 2 applique projects in full swing at once.

I've not been great a finishing things the last few months, but...
My September OMG was my Chinese Coins
My August OMG was the patriotic mess.
I actually had 3 patriotic items that I decided to use together.
It is ready to quilt, and I might get it done this month.
We have a trip scheduled for Friday and if I can get it quilted, I will do the binding on Friday in the car.
My June OMG was the GS canvas quilt.
What a mess that thing was.
It is ready for delivery.
I'm thankful to get it done.
It was a difficult quilt to work on because of the type of canvas they used.

So, I might not be completely done with Sunkissed, but I made progress on 3 others.

Main Crush Monday

The current T-shirt quilt has all the shirts stabilized and cut out.
I have them in a pile to add the shadowing to, and then I'll be arranging them.
I think there is a good balance of colors and the shadow will be black with a green background.
The wedding HST quilt is coming along.
I had to move it to the big design wall.
I am still making HST, so I don't know how big it is really going to get.
I'm actually enjoying these two projects, so it is a pleasure to work on them.
I'm linking up with Cooking Up Quilts.

Prairie Moon Organization Challenge

Last week we needed to put away all the fabrics.
I actually did that.
right now I have a pile of Tshirt leftovers that need to be put away.
I actually need to cut them into T-shirt yarn and make into balls.
We shall see how long that takes me to do.
This time the challenge is to:

Choose an area to reset, redesign, reboot, or overhaul

I have so many places I could say I need to do something with.
I really like my studio area, but there are just some things that I need to do differently.
The part that has been bugging me the most lately is how I store my leftover batting.

When DH changed out the broken light above my cutting table, he had to move this pile of sorted batting.
Well, it didn't quite make it back the way I had it.
It really is a mess being in that spot anyway.
With the T-shirt leftovers and the batting across from it.
I don't care for the look at all.
So, I'm going to work on this walkway.
I think I'll see if I can find a nicer way to keep the leftover batting in control.
I really would like to use it up, but that never seems to happen.
It is less of a pile than before.
Check out all the comments at Prairie Moon.

I need to move on to something else before I finish this up.
I will add another yellow around this and then think the chinese coins or something like that for the border.
Or, I might make it a tad bit longer.
Guess time will tell, because I have 2 other projects that have to be done before this one.
Back to the window waiting place. :)

Light Bags

DH has some hunting lights he needed protection for
this holds 2 lights and a power cord.
I think it would have been better if I'd made it a bit deeper and wider for the power cord to be in there.

It fits.

I hate velcro, but I couldn't find the piece I wanted.
