Most of my time was spent on the longarm for others.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

I didn't work on anything of my own, so no scraps this week.

Guild charity quilts

Both of these are little charity quilts.
I was doing 4 a month, but that has slowed down since COVID.

I should be working on the items I was going to take on my personal retreat.
But, my DS got laid off from his job and I've been helping with lots of paperwork.
It's sad to see a child (man, he's 38) lose a job that he loved and didn't see it coming. :(
But, he is OK and he will be OK.
He has already applied for 3 jobs.
He has applied for unemployment to help with the expenses.
He has applied for food stamps.
Even if he doesn't get the food stamps, we will feed him.

Anyway, I have been working on other's projects.
That will make February a low month on fabric usage, but that is OK.

Now to get ready for the retreat with my larger guild.
It is the middle of March.
I need to decide what I'm taking because I have a couple of lists now.

Habitat for Humanity Quilt

Finally finished quilting the habitat quilt.
Such fun tulips to brighten the day.

Now to trim and get the binding ready.

What bust of the week.
This is what we were dealing with.

It doesn't look like much, but it is the first day.
I didn't go out and take any other photos after this.
I hibernated.
DD enjoyed the snow, at least the first day.
She got to make her first snow angel and slide down the hill.
I'm glad she was able to have fun.

With all the power outages, my sewing was very limited.
I did lots of sorting when the power was out, so I made more progress there.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

The mug rugs were from the scrap drawers too.

It was a challenging week.
I didn't get to go on my personal retreat and thought I would be able to get things done here.
Not the case.
I had other household things to take care of and my retreat was a bust.

Hopefully, next week is better.

Monday Design Wall

      I'm linking to

My design wall changed a little.
I have a couple of pieces in the works to make into a pillow and a pincushion.

MY main design wall has some orphan blocks on it.
One of the challenges for the New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild is to find your orphan blocks and do something with them.
All the crates and stuff are for the retreat in March.
I'll be happy to see all that stuff gone.

The paper in the middle is a paper pieced tree that is a UFO.
I have to say, getting the Tree (green) UFO into a usable position was difficult.
Pieces had been cut wrong.
I kept getting confused about the sizes of the pieces, etc.
But, it is all cut out and I hope it is going to go together easier than it cut out.

The Blue quilt is the BOW we did at the Hill Country Mod Quilt Guild last year.
I am making it for a wedding gift.
I have sewn the first half of it together.
If our brownouts don't get me, I'll be sewing today.
It snowed a lot for Texas last night
DD out in the snow.
She is having fun.
At least she bundled up and didn't drive anywhere.

This morning the sun is shining and all is white.
Some have lost power and some are without water.
Texas is not set up for this white stuff.

I took an embroidery class and learned in the hoop embroidery with Organza.
It is not my favorite thing to do.
These have been in my car for a long time.
I finally finished the two candle mats.

I was lucky to sew all week long.
I also had time to get ready for my three trips.
I emptied a number of boxes and bags for organizing.
I really want to find another way to organize my zippers.
They are currently in plastic bags by size and stored in a drawer.
I'm still holding the guild retreat items and would like to get my space back.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

A blog friend is doing a wedding quilt and asked for hearts.
I made two.
They are from my scrap drawer.

I belong to a postcard swap group and the theme was mardi gras.
You can't see the yellow stitching on the one card that says "Mardi Gras."
I used green, gold, and purple scraps from my scrap drawers.

I also finished a test quilt that I pulled fabric from the scrap drawers.
It was fun to make something all from scraps.
I don't see a dent in them or any room, but I had fun testing this quilt for TQPM.

Postcards

Since I'm not going anywhere in this weather, I'm trying to get stuff done.

I had a postcard swap I need to mail, so I finished it.

Mardi Gras

I decided crazy quilting would be fun with embroidery stitches on my machine.

Studio Clean up Challenge

Prairie Moon has a studio clean up challenge going.

I love her challenges

Clean up an annoying pile.

See that blue crate?

That is the last of the crates that housed the items that I didn't want on the shelf anymore.

It has been almost empty and then was filled up when I cleaned up from somewhere else.

So, I'll see about getting it cleaned out.

I only have a few days because of my trip.

So, it might not get done completely.

Embroidery Class

This is on the embroidery machine with organza.
It's fly-away to work with, but I like the results.
I learned a few things, so I'll be doing a few more and see what I can make.
It was a good class.

I think these hearts are going to go back into their container.
They are not speaking to me, so it is time to clear the design wall.

The paper in the middle is a paper pieced tree that is a UFO.
All the green is cut. I need to cut the background.
I am still not making progress on this.
If it is not done, I might take it with me to the personal retreat in a couple of weeks.

The Blue quilt is the BOW we did at the HIll Country Mod Quilt Guild last year.
I am making it for a wedding gift.

I had a good week of getting things done.
My organization right now has lots of crates in the studio that will leave in March for the retreat.
Until then, I'll be working around them.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

I made a couple of these pincushions for prizes for my guild.
