Updates

 I've not been doing much of anything lately.

Life has thrown a curve ball at me and I'm dealing with all that.

It's sad, but I will get through this too.

So, I can't say I've done much.

I'm still doing something daily, but with the motivation low, it makes it difficult to complete anything.

I used up all this material, which is good.

It is a birthday gift long overdue.

My friend's husband has been having medical issues.

I also worked on postcards so I would have them ready to mail when the matches were made.

 

  

 

All of them were made from the scrap drawer.

I'll try and get on to show what I'm doing more often.

It's been a month of working on things but not finishing much.

I have two more quilts ready to quilt and bind.

Maybe I'll get that done this month, but only time will tell.

My Hungry Little Caterpillar baby quilt is finished.

It was partially from stash, but I had to buy a yard of fabric for it.

I might need to buy more for the next quilt, but I will try and use what I have.

I'll update with a photo.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

I just finished a test quilt that I can't show until October.

It had a variety of stars in it and they were all from the scrap drawers.

The rest of the quilt was from my stash, so nothing was bought.

I need to quilt it and I'll use one of my wide backs to do that.

It feels good to work from the stash.

I'm back

 I'm so busy and focused on other things that I've not been quilting much.

I didn't even have a finish last week.

It's sad.

I'm preparing for a retreat at Summers Mill in Belton, TX the second weekend in March.

Since I'm in charge, there are lots of emails and conversations.

That takes up lots of time.

Then, DD had a school project requiring a genogram.

So, off we went to figure out her family tree.

That got me to thinking that I don't know much about our family.

You know where that leads a person.

Contact family and get all the information you can and input it into ancestry.com.

That takes time and makes the brain hurt because it is not all that user-friendly.

I'd like to be able to print out stuff, but it doesn't let you see the entire record.

Then, I am teaching a beginning quilting class twice a month at the new Cibolo Senior Center.

I had to plan for the extra time when I was not there on March 11th. 

Then, I got a very bad winter cold and had to pass on my responsibilities to others.

The good news is I had it planned out.

I had to change the plan, but they will sew today.

We were going to finish the heart pillows, but no one else can do applique, so that is on hold until March 25th.

So, we were going to start on a 9-patch/snowball joint quilt on March 11th.

So, they will work on that today while I recover.

I have to replan the March 11th class because I gave it to them to do today.

but, no one wants to teach snowballs on the 11th, so I'll do a small project that they can take home.

I'm thinking about a coaster or kleenex Cover.

Coasters might be more fun, but they need to be able to press everything before sewing.

I'm thinking out loud here.

So, I'm still alive and just a cold going on.

I'm working to get everything together for all my projects.

I did a number of samples with fusing hearts on a white background.

When I finish the pillows, I'll show them.

This is the sample pillow that I ended up giving away.

I suppose I need to do another one so I have a sample for them to see.

 

Prairie Moon Studio Organizing Task

 Our task for the Prairie Moon Organizing task is

Choose your own task.

Clean out under the long arm.

I have things organized under there, but I think some things shouldn't be kept.

Those drawers have wreath-making items in them.

They need to go somewhere else or be donated.

Last one I did well.

National QOV Sew Day

 I wish I'd taken a photo, but I didn't.

There is a Facebook post showing part of the day.

There were about a dozen of us at the Cibolo Grange working on Quilts of Valor.

Barbara Steers brought all sorts of projects to work on.

I made some stars, a churn dash block, and two tumbler quilt tops.

The tumblers were an old UFO Barbara had.

It took the community to help lay it out.

One is a good size for a QOV and the second is a wheelchair QOV.

It was a fun and beautiful day.

Others worked on a 9 patch quilt with a twist of three stars scattered around it.
