Binding is on

Remember in March the UFO challenge was the floral 4 patches?  I had one quilt that I got finished for the challenge and had this one ready to quilt.
I've been lazy and had it loaded and not quilted, so today I quilted it, I used leftover binding pieces to bind this scrappy quilt.  Most of it was purple for some reason, but it is ready to sew the binding down.  So, the March UFO will be gone!  That really means that my UFO list is down 1, but I got 2 quilts out of it.  LOL

It also means I will use some fabric next week.  YES!

I still have the horse quilt UFO from April to finish too.

The May UFO is my black and red table cloth.  No batting inside that one, but it should be fairly easy to finish up, I hope.

I have the batik quilt I could load and have ready to quilt too.  I should do that today.

I also got my applique ready to do and started on the Whimsical Garden and Home in the middle.
I finished the bee for Pixie Garden.  I do not like those little round circles.  LOL  But, I used floss to do the bee bands instead of trying to get the tiny bias strips on the bee body.  This next month is a butterfly.

I need to get ready to run some errands, and get DD something else for her throat.  :(  She is sleeping all the time.  Not a normal thing.  The urgent care place called to check on her.  That was a first.

Stash report

Judy has us do a stash report weekly. So, here is mine for the week.

So, it was not a great week of finishes, but I did finish a few little things, I made lots of progress, but no finishes on larger items.
I am making teacher gifts, so that will use some up.
I have some BOM, BOW, Applique, and just using up the started hst mess.  But, none of those count because they are not DONE.  :(

Used this Week: 1.01 yards  woo hoo LOL
Used year to Date: 64.58 yards
Added this Week: 0 yards

Saturday update

Wow, what a day.  DD woke up and was feeling bad.  Bad enough that we took her in.  When we got home she went right to bed.  She has been sleeping all day long. :(

Update on what I've been working on.  I found this DIY Keyboard Wrist Rest and am trying to make them.  I adjusted the filling to be the cut off pieces from my quilting.  I think they will even out as they are used.  I also added batting to the piece before sewing together to give it more cushion.  I wanted them to be washable.

I would like to make a few more for gifts.

A pocket full of Mysteries Block E for Easy partial seams

This one is mine.                                                                      This is for Lynne.

What am I using for leader enders now?  This block, and I have 9 of them done.  One sits by the machine to make sure I align the pieces correctly.

I had so much planned for today, but life throws us curve balls.  I am trying to get a few things done.

Thursday update

My family loves these.  I made a total of 6 for my GS co-leader for their family.  They make heating things up easy and eating cold things insulated.  LOL
Well, I got the alternated blocks together for this quilt.  I like it, but I really need to figure out what border to put on here.
Maybe I'll put some blue on the outside to tied the blue in together.
I need an easy project for 8 gifts.  Any ideas?

Design Wall Monday

OK, the horse quilt is not complete, but putting it back up on the design wall is way too much for me.  So, I have not started the rush for teacher quilts.  DD does not want them for ALL her teachers, but there are few special ones.  So, I'm using this UFO set of blocks.  I do have 6 more I could add, but I'm thinking I will leave them at this and maybe use the other 6 for another quilt with a different setting.
I will be strip piecing 6 different colors of patriotic fabrics to go between these stars.  The top row will be horizontal and the next row vertical, so the strips will form a border around the block.
now to pull the fabric for the strips.  I really need to figure out how much so I know if I have the right amount.  It might end up scrappy, depending on how much yardage I have.

Check out all the other design walls.

Judy has us do a stash report weekly. So, here is mine for the week.

Well, it has not been a good health week.  I did make more microwave pot holders, and have more to do.

I needed border fabric for the horse quilt and some backing fabric, so I ended up adding more to my stash.  :(  Seems I never get ahead.  Maybe if I would stop getting sick I would.

Used this Week: 0.32 yards
Used year to Date: 63.57 yards
Added this Week: 12 yards
Added Year to Date: 36 yards
Net Used for 2013: 27.57 yards

May is a busy school month, so I hope I feel good enough to sew.

Change in Plans

Well, I guess God is telling me not to go to the maintenance class this weekend.  Between the cough not getting any better and DH getting more difficult to deal with and my mouth getting the better of me, I decided we needed to cancel the trip.  Apparently I'm not supposed to get that class this weekend.  Now it won't be until September.  :(  But, I do believe it is for the best.

Maybe I will try and get one of these 2 quilts quilted.  I'll play with the tension too.

I didn't go to the applique class today because of how I am feeling.  No one needs to feel this way.  I'll wear my mask tonight with the Girl Scouts.  Don't want to cancel another meeting.
