Prayers, please

Well, today was a day of no sewing. I was hurting from pulling my back on Monday and went back to bed for half the day. I felt great when I got up! Yea!!

Off to horseback riding tonight. I even got talked into riding. I don't think I've been on a horse for 40 years. LOL But, it was going great, and then the instructor's horse got out of control and she was thrown. She hit her head and was bleeding. Thank God I was in the arena and could get down from my horse quickly. I got to her and she was convulsing a little. Told DH to call 911. The problem, we didn't have the address and we are out in the country. DH found a magazine and got the paramedics on their way. Once the convulsing stopped and we noticed the blood from the back of her head. DH was there and gave me his shirt. Put it and pressure on the back of the head. She was coherent, but had trouble with certain questions. She kept trying to get up, but I finally got her to stay still and let me put pressure on her head. Nothing else was readily showing damage. The paramedics were there in about 5 minutes. I kept her talking. She was having trouble remembering what happened and kept trying to remember. DD was having a hard time seeing someone she cares about hurt and on the ground. I couldn't comfort her, except for words because I was applying pressure. We finally got her in medical care and all the questions we could answer given the the medics. She is currently at the hospital in a great deal of pain. We don't know the results of any of the tests yet, so please say prayers for Judy and her family and mine.

I'm great in a crisis, but now I'm having trouble sleeping. I don't do blood well at all. I'm surprised I made it through all of that. DD is finally sleeping, and I hope can get a good rest tonight.

Thanks for the prayers.

Yikes, on Judy's tumble and resulting problems. And, let me get this right -- you got out of being in bed with a sore/bad back and went horse back riding??? Another yikes!

Are the pillows from Mysteries for Relay at the end of January? Curious minds want to know.

Keep us updated on Judy and hope your DD is calmed down... although it must have been traumatic for her.

Oh my goodness, how scary! It was such a good thing you and your dh were there and were able to do all the right things to help her! I'll sure be keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
