Assembling Block:
Starting with the tree trunk, take your 2 ½” tree trunk
square and the two (2) 2 ½” x 5 ½” background pieces. Sewing right sides together with a ¼” seam, one
(1) background piece to each side of the tree trunk 2 ½” square.
Press to the background
Row 5 (bottom of tree). Lay your tree fabric face up. Place the two 2 ½” squares right sides together on tree fabric as shown.
This photo is of a future row where you use rectangles.
Draw lines as shown diagonally on the background fabric. Sew on the lines.
You will have a piece like this after sewing.
Trim the corners ¼” past the sewing line.

For the remaining rows, follow the same procedure with the
pieces shown in the cutting chart.
