New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild

Today was our guild meeting.
I just joined the New Braunfels Aea Quilt Guild in November 2018.
Yeah!
it is nice to get out and see other quilters.
I bound Monkey 'N Round while listening to the meeting.
The show and tell was amazing.
The speakers talked about the impact of the charity quilts on their kids.
It makes me want to make more.
I picked up 4 more quilts to finish up for the guild.
Then, we had a sewing day where they had kitted the quilts and we just sewed.
They were 2 rail rail fences.
I ended up making 2 today.
Yea!

Monkey 'N Round

It is bound and ready for washing.
I do not have a person to give this to yet, but I'm sure one will show up.

Clemens T-shirt quilt

Finished the top for the T-shirt quilt.
I now need to figure out how to quilt it.
I think I have to use white and a dark blue.
That means changing threads.
The blue fabric on the floor is a leftover piece of wide-back that just fits.
I doubt I'll be able to get this quilted tomorrow, but might get it loaded.
I'm not sure if I'll load pixie garden or this one.

Pixie Garden

Pixie Garden center is done.
This was pieced as a leader/ender while doing all the others. :)

Clemens T-shirt quilt

The center is done.
I had to buy some border fabric.
I really didn't want to, but it will be used.
Back one for DD's quilt
Front one for Clemens quilt.

Clemens T-shirt quilt

When I was starting to stabilize the shirts and arrange the show shirts (the dark ones), I realized that one of the shirts (top middle) was not the right one.
It was a shirt that was 5 years ago instead of the 4 years for the graduating seniors.
I had an extra of the correct ones (clock works show shirt) and sent a note to the booster handling it.
I also realized, after she responded, that the red shirt I had in the bottom right was not from the 4 years either.
So, she said to use the show shirt I had and she would get me another shirt tomorrow.
That is great, because I really want to get this done this month so I can do the other things slotted for the rest of the year.
I want to make sure they have it for the banquet silent auction.
I went ahead and stitched out the little SC (Samuel Clemens) cornerstones.
DD liked only having the yellow in the center of the quilt, so I need to make sure I have enough of the border to work.
We have I couple of options picked out and will wait for the center to be put together.
It feels good to make progress.
This is my Elm Street OMG.

Prairie Moon Organization Challenge

Prairie Moon is having her organization challenge.
instead of doing it weekly, she is doing it monthly.
I'm going to join her even though I've been doing my own.
It helps me with accountability.
This month I'm going to work on this basket.
Can I get into a habit of cleaning up at the end of each week instead of waiting until it gets like this?
It was actually worse than this, but I worked on it today.
After I took this photo, the whole thing fell over and the fabric was all over the floor.
I had to do something.
Much was put back into the cabinets and some scraps filed in their colored drawers.
