retreat update

Well, I 've been to a retreat and now trying to finish up the Christmas for the teachers. Taking a quick break and then I'll be back at it.
Moonlight and Nightlight were with me all weekend and were very well behaved.

The retreat was wonderful. Here are a few of the quilts done on the first night.Wanda's first quilt she quilted.

Sunday update

Fabric usage goal --100 yards (I've met my goal!!!)
Fabric Added This Week - 0 yards
Fabric Added Year to Date - 49.31 yards
Fabric Used This Week - .75 yards
Fabric Used Year to Date - 168.26 yards
Fabric Used this Month - 28.56 yards
Net year to date: 129.46 yards USED this year!!!

Thanks, Judy. I had to add in some extra fabric into a SS gift, so that is what this is. I still have the baby quilt loaded, and that will be at least 9 yards when it is done. So, I am moving, but have not done the finish yet.

I've been testing embroidery designs, and that has used some yardage, but it is not in a finished project, so I can't count it if it stays in my house.

A friend just asked for some novelty squares, so I should be able to get rid of some more yardage by sending them on to her. LOL

Small outer border

I was going to do an elaborate border, but decided to keep it simple. It is a baby quilt.
So, I will bind it in the gold.
The backing will be the camouflage fabric.
Vicki digitized the label for me, so that will be stitched out soon.
I take this with me tomorrow and show Peggy to see if it is OK for what she wanted.

Army quilt center complete

Well I got the embroidery done, the stars done, and the layout all together. Now to figure out what to do with borders. Not a great picture, but I think it turned out OK.

update on army baby quilt

Well, with a little focus, I have quite a few squares made. I am needing to make 3 more 9" stars and 1 more 6" star. then, the fun part comes in trying to figure out the puzzle. I will use some camouflage in the spaces to help the stars float a little more. So, here is what I've got done so far.
I'm hoping I can get the other stars made tomorrow and get the top put together before Wed's Weight Watcher meeting (that is where the lady is that this one is being made for).
Now, the question will be -- what do I do for the borders? Ideas?

2009 Stashbusting pledge

OK, I didn't get to download the pledge because the file says it was damaged, but I put one together on my own.
I am pledging to use up 100 yards or more in 2009.

I will focus on working on my UFOs for gifts and donations to others. My UFO cabinet is overflowing and needs help. I keep finding things to add to it. Projects seem to multiply and I don't use them up as quickly as I thought I would. I should review them and make sure my listing is accurate.

I will finish my own king sized bed quilt, so I have one of my quilts on my bed. That will be unique.

I will not overspend on fabrics and will use what I have in my stash before purchasing for a specific project.

I will work on quilting at least 15 minutes each day to help my mental stability and productivity.

Thanks, Judy. I hope we keep on doing this for next year. It has helped me know when I've actually accomplished something. So, what did I work on this week? I finished the NYE Mystery I was testing. I can't show a photo, but everyone loved it. I've also been working on a couple of baby quilts, so when they are accomplished, I'll have more to report. The Heartstrings is still waiting on half the binding to be sewn on. When that is done, more. It has been a productive week for me.
