Kate at Life in Pieces is doing the challenge of 15 minutes of sewing.
I had time in the studio, but some of it was intense cleaning and moving to add in a new bookcase.
This area was getting cluttered and I couldn't find what I needed.
There is still a need to work on the area under the pressing table, but the shelf to the right is double deep.
That is what I wanted.
I wanted bins I could store the things I'm in the process of working through.
They are filled, but not full.
Now, I am working on a way to know what is in each container so I don't have to search.
I have an idea but need to get to the store to buy something.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

All I seem to be doing is working with scraps.
Does that mean my scraps drawers and bins are being reduced?
I'm not so sure.
I have all the blocks made.
I need to sew them together.

I had to put this on hold to finish up some other things that had to be done.
The top rows are sewn together and I need to keep on sewing them together.

New shelving

I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for two bookshelves to arrive.

They didn't have any tracking on them.

They arrived one at a time and weeks apart.

Why? Who knows.

I needed two for the depth.
DH put them together and then figured out how to make them sturdier.
He did a WONDERFUL job.
The shelves fit the normal-sized bins.
I wanted them to be double deep, mainly because I had that space in that little nook.
I purchased 10 bins to house the UFOs and projects that I should be working on.
I had them in crates and the crates were in the way.
I emptied two crates into these bins and still have room for more.
While putting things away and figuring out what else I needed to do, I put on a new ironing surface.
I had the wool mats to use on the front, but the silver fabric was a mess.
All new and ready to use.
Everything is dusted and clean.
I notice that under the pressing table I have some bins that could be consolidated.
This is where I pull the UFOs for the challenges that require you to start with 12 UFOs.
I have NOT been great at finishing this year, so maybe this new organization will help me.
So, this was before the shelf.

You might ask about all the stuff you can't see.....

I had a small bookshelf on top of this three-tiered bin.
What was I thinking?
I think Ashley was a Brownie when I put this under the bookshelf.
There was no easy way to get into it, so it just sat.
These three bins will be my WITB (What's in the Box) for next week.
I will see if any of it is good still and pass it on.

the little bookshelf will go over by my second design wall and house things I need on that side of the room.
I'll post photos when that is in better shape.

Pillows

The pillows for the apartment are finished.
These 24" forms are NOT 24".
The pillow cover was made to be 24" and then a 1/2" seam was taken all around, so that makes it finish at 23" and it is not full.
I'm considering stuffing the pillow form with more stuffing.
Time will tell.

Finishes

One pillow is finished.

Sunflower Wall Hanging is done.

Pillows

I loaded batting, but it was not long enough to do all three pillows.
The blue and gray pillows are quilted.
I'll load another piece of batting tomorrow and finish the purple one.
I might still be able to get the backing made to finish these off.

Progress

It's been a good sewing day.
I bought some bookshelves for this corner.
They have FINALLY arrived.
DH is putting them together, so it means I have to clear this area to make room
It is dusty back there.

I am working on pillows for DD's roommates
For DD

For the new roommate
For the old roommate.

Now I need to load some batting on the longarm and quilt these.
Making the pillow backs are easy.

I have one more pineapple block to make before I rearrange things and sew it together.

Kate at Life in Pieces is doing the challenge of 15 minutes of sewing.
My week had me have two days where the sewing time was only about 20 minutes, and then I had a day I went to visit DD and didn't get anything done in my studio because I stayed the night.
It was well worth it.

I'm not so sure.
I have 5 more to make.

I'm sewing this one together and will see what comes next.
It takes lots of brainpower, so it is slow going for me.
It is all out of the scrap drawers.

Postcards

It has been a busy week dealing with insurance and doctor's offices for medication refills.

That is not something I enjoy, and it takes too much time.

I have been behind on the postcards for different swaps.

I finished them today.

Pinwheels are done.

Pieced block using the leftovers from the pineapple blocks.

I made a couple more bandanas for Pi.
