Fabric Hug

Harvey has done so much damage to Houston and a fellow quilter.

If you would like to send a 5" charm to a fellow quilter to brighten her day, please send me a comment.

I'll reply with her address.

Simply Woven

I've finished the top.
Didn't follow the pattern past the center, but hope it is OK for the DS.
Today was his birthday, but I hope to get it to him by the end of the week.

September Stashbuster Numbers

# 10 - Baby Clothing - Boy
No where near being done and so much more to go that I doubt it will be done this coming month.
I'll work to make progress on it.

#48 - Dragonfly Baby Quilt
This is probably doable, but I'm not sure I really want to work on it.
Have to find it first and there are so many other things I want to work on.

Motivational Monday

21-27 August 2017

1.Work on Irish Stars quilt-a-long

I'm working on this and made progress with all the filing that was sitting around.
I need to figure out a better way to handle some things, but making progress.

3.Work on baby clothing quilt

Keep Sewing center together
cut more 2.5" squares
Did a little cutting, but not much on this one.

4. Work on Simply Woven
The center and 3 of the inner borders are together.
I'm having trouble on what to do to make the quilt larger.
I have a couple of ideas that I tried and didn't like.
Need to make a decision this morning.

5. WITB
I did 2 WITB this week.
They were mostly things that were left from moving DD into the dorm.
I'm working on the boxes in the studio and DD's room first.
Next will be in the extra bedroom.
So many containers to go through.

We had power outages because of Hurricane Harvey, but no damage.
Keep Houston in your prayers as they recover from all the flooding.

It has been a week.
DD has had a birthday, and now is an adult. :)
License expired on her birthday and she was in band practice from 0830 to 2130, so couldn't get it renewed.
Ended up going up on the 25th to help her with that problem and get prepared for the rain coming our way.
Made it home before the bad part hit, so I was happy about that.
yesterday the power was going on and off, so i unplugged the computer and sewing machine.
Ready all day, so nothing in the studio got done.
I did do some cleaning and filing, but no sewing.
I'm working on Simply Woven, and hope to have it done soon.

I'm alive

Today was filled with a doctor appointment with the VA
1.5 hours of x-rays and movements that hurt.
Another 1.5 hours of poking and prodding by the doctor.
I'm worn out, but DD needed her swim suit to jump in the river tomorrow with her band section.
Sooooo off we went to deliver and take the college student to dinner.
She turns 18 tomorrow.
Such a sweet time, but we won't be with her.
No sewing, but hoping I can do something tomorrow.

plastic bag holder

We were looking for the bags left the other day and realized that it was going to be difficult to keep them in control, so I made a plastic bag holder for the girls to use.
It matches the door pockets.

Dorm move in week, with extra trips to San Marcos.
But, within a bit, I should be able to stay home and focus on my house and quilting.

I did a few little dorm room things, but no real big finishes.

Long week

This was a stressful week for us.
All the packing, all the driving, crisis with the room, etc.
But, thankfully we are only 35 minutes away and we are available to deal with things.
DD is moved into college, likes her roommate and loves her band experience.
So very thankful for all of that.
I'm exhausted.
i spent today making the postcards for a analogous swap.

yesterday the Cotton Boll was having a birthday sale.
She had a goal of getting rid of lots of bolts of fabric.
I helped her out.
I needed some gray to work into the simply woven fiasco I've been working on.
Maybe I'll be able to get something accomplished soon.
Tomorrow is going to breakfast with DD.
Then I have an essential oils consultation in the afternoon.
So, I doubt I'll get much sewing done.
Plus, I have so much cleaning to do that I need to do a little at a time of that.
But, I'm doing OK and have just been busy.

Snowman

Remember the 12 Days of Christmas in July?
Well, here is a snowman pillow that Stitchin at Home had on her site.
I had planned this to be for my Mom since her name was Joy.
But, we will keep it here in her memory.
Her favorite color was pink, so that is why the JOY is in pink.

Last Banner

Finished the banner for my DD's roommate.
Hard to see, because I can't get direct on it from where the design wall is.
