mini retreat

It was a long trip here today.
Lots of road construction, which means extra time on the road.
But, we made it here safe and sound.
Got the room all set up, as you can see and started on a kit.
Well, kit needs fusible and I don't have any with me. :(
I'm not sure if I can do it a different way or wait until I get home.
So, I started on a second kit, which you see here.
I hate cutting up panels.
Did I every tell you that before?
Anyway, the panels are cut and I'm starting on the other pieces.
Doesn't appear to be lots of pieces, so I hope to get them cut and ready to sew tomorrow.

I did finish the binding on one quilt and half done on the other on the way here.

Halloween Wreath

I don't normally celebrate Halloween, especially since 2013 when Dad passed away.
But, DD is in a new apartment with 3 other girls and they are decorating.
So, we decided they needed a wreath for the front door.
I've never seen one of these.
Those are little pillows and tied on with ribbon.

If I do it again, I need to balance the purple better.

I think it turned out OK.
A little more than 3/4 of a yard of fabric I already had.

This is the quilt I was working on for the mini retreat.

San Antonio quilt show

Friday was such a fun day.
Four of us went to the San Antonio quilt show.
What a great group of ladies.
Thanks, Lana, Lorena and Samm for making it a wonderful outing.
These are my spoils.
Only 2 yards of fabric because my Fall fabrics are sparse and these were only $6 a yard.
Yea!
I found some wool projects to work on, a few gifts, a contraption to stop the foot pedal from moving around, and some cork.
I probably didn't need all this, but it was beautiful and I know I'll use it.
