Turtle Wall hanging is finished.

Not a great photo, and it is not hanging smoothly.
Need to let it settle a bit, I guess.
I had time during Trumpet lessons and on the way to the gym to finish the binding.

Another UFO bites the dust.

fun quilting day

The quilting is hard to see, but I tried a new swirl type of quilting.
I had planned to do something on the turtle backs, but spaced out before I unloaded it.
Oh well, it is quilted and binding ready to sew down.
This block is from another site that I modified.
I didn't want a border around it like she had, and I wanted the tree to be a bit bigger.
I figure I need to do a tutorial on this change.
I need to write it up and post it.
These are my two blocks for the sampler society Christmas quilt.

Not totally happy with it, but it is OK
I'm not redoing it.

Sampler society Christmas quilt

This is the first block of our sampler society Christmas quilt.
I look at this and might have to fix what I see.
I didn't see it until I posted this photo.
I had a layer cake Christmas packet and decided to use them here.
Too much of the same fabric line for me.
Maybe I'll just make another block.

It's loaded

I decided I had to do something for me before I quilted the king sized quilt.
that quilt will need some special handing, so I am going to do my little one first.
I want some waves and bubbles, so I need to figure that out.
DD loves this one.
I might have to give it up for her bathroom wall.

Turtle Wall-hanging & UFO #6

My turtle wall hanging came from Hawaii two years ago.
I've had the applique done, but not the eyes or the borders.
I put the borders on today.
The eyes will be easy.
I wonder how to quilt bubbles or waves or ????

I sewed the center of the UFO #6 together.
My daughter doesn't like it.  LOL  She says it is strange.  It is different.
I think I might just do a plain black border with cornerstones of 4 patches.
I'm not sure I want to put lots of work into it.
These are orphan blocks from 2 different UFOs.

I also sewed the backing for Lana's quilt.
I hope I got it right.
It is so big that it is difficult to measure.
I'd like to load it tonight.

Messy pillow

This stuff is a pain to work with.
I am covered in pieces of fluff.
YUCK

But done is done.
This is going to my Mom's nursing home to sell at a craft show.
Out of my house and for a good cause of adding to their activities program.

Design Wall Monday

My alternate design wall has my sampler society UFO #6 on it.
I need to sew them together and figure out the border.

My main design wall has the same thing on it as always.
I need to make more QST and get this one done.
I love it, so I'm not sure why I am having so much trouble with it.

Amazon Smiles

OK, so I don't normally advertise things on this blog, but Amazon Smiles will give a percentage to our band boosters.  Soooo, if you don't already have a charity, and you shop Amazon, could you pick Samuel Clemens Band boosters as your charity?  This is the link to get started.  Thank you in advance.

applique ready for jury duty

I have been tapped for jury duty.
I hate sitting, so I put together this kit for a quilt I'm testing.
Of course, I can't show you, but I can show you my cute bag I'm taking with me.

Snowflake quilt is quilted

Lots of snowflakes.
I tried to vary them and make some unique.
It is quilted.
Hope Lana likes it.

Last Sampler Society UFO

Sampler Society yahoo group had us pick 6 UFOs to work on this year.
This is my 6th one.
I finished the other 5.
It is exciting to have something done.
Only problem is there are a few other black and bright blocks and 4 patches that are not used in this layout.  The blocks are two different sizes.
So, I will have to see if I can make a second quilt with the leftover leftover blocks.
I want to play with the color arrangement a little before I sew them all together.

Snowflakes

For someone that dislikes the word. SNOW, I'm making snowflakes this morning.
Lana wants snowflakes quilted on this quilt.
These are a few examples of what I've done so far.
Lots of starts and stops.
Trying to be random is not easy for me.  LOL

It feels good to start running the long arm again.

Still quilting

Table runners top done.
Now to get them quilted and that takes one of the UFOs off my plate.

Quilting with Carol

Carol quilted this scrappy quilt.
She almost got it bound today too.

Carol convinced me to just load this and start quilting it.
Tammy sent me this quilt to quilt for her.
I did some custom quilting on it.  It was fun.

close up of part of the quilt

See how fun it is?  This is the back.

I made the UFO pillow that I have had out for over a year now.
This will go to Autumn Winds for their bazaar they are having later this year.

Carol and I will sew together a few times a month to keep us motivated.

aprons sewn

It's hard to tell, but there 11 more aprons in this pile of mess.
I need to put the number on them tomorrow, but they are done.
Another 5 yards of fabric used up.
It felt good to sew.
Maybe tomorrow I can work on something I want to work on.
