Finished or not Fridays 2/9/2024

"Finished or not Fridays" is new to me.

Not many completions this week, but I did long arm some charity quilts.

I started quilting another charity quilt.

I still have two baby quilts ready to quilt

I also have a peach and green quilt I need to cut more for more variety.

Then, the green and purple ones are a challenge.
I have 10 of 12 blocks made.
The 11th one is ready to sew together, so there is only one more to go.

The week

It's been a week of something.

I had jaw surgery on Wednesday, and it went well.

But I slept the day away on Wednesday and not much better on Thursday.

But today, I was up early and feeling OK.

I am sewing on my Challenge quilt and a test quilt.

Both are coming along.

Last night, I deconstructed a box of clothing.

I have two huge boxes of clothing to make into bears and quilts for a dear family.

This is one of the bins of fabric.

I have another one ready to go downstairs to deconstruct more.

I need to figure out how to work with sweaters.

I'll wait to cut them apart until it is time to use them.

Another slow week for finishes.
I did get lots of fun things to the top stage, but I need to longarm some quilts, so the finishing is stalled.
I tried a new technique for the background on these PCs.
I laid them all close together with the glue side up and then added strips of fabric to the larger piece.
When it was all covered, I adhered the fabric and cut the PCs apart.
After that, I used my fancy stitches and covered all the seams.
I used some leftover hearts from a project last year and embellished the background.
I'm happy with the way they turned out.

A couple of other fun facts are:

Finished or Not Fridays 2/2/2024

I was out at doctor appointments all day, so I was not in my studio or on the computer on Friday.

"Finished or not Fridays" is new to me.

Why not try it and see if it helps me finish my things.

So, this has been a busy week, and I've only worked on a class I teach twice a month.

I taught the class today, so maybe I can get some new things on the design walls.

I have two baby quilts, which are laid out on the design wall.

It has been sewn together, but on Friday, it was not done.

I also have a peach and green quilt I need to cut more for more variety.

Then, the green and purple ones are a challenge.
I have 8 of 12 blocks made.
These are not difficult blocks; I just need to sit down and sew them.

This baby quilt is a Dr. Seuss quilt.
I even have the back together.

It's Saturday!

I believe I have full-bloomed quilter's ADD today.

I started by cutting more greens for a quilt.

I then moved to laying out the challenge #7 block.

I pulled fabric for the class next Friday to make small drawstring bags.

I loaded and started quilting the charity quilt for Quilts for Kids in Need.

I wanted to get the alphabet quilt borders on.
I did that and made the backing for it from stash.

I've played with Valentine's Postcards to figure out who to send them to.

I took down a quilt and will be laying it out in my front room, where the entire quilt can be seen at once.

I keep getting distracted.
