What a Day

I have had one of those days.

I make pillow covers all the time!

I don't ever have the problems I've had today.

I tend to load them on the long arm and quilt them quickly.

I was making a couple of cute pillows for Gus.

I started quilting one and stopped last night.

This morning I tried another color on it and then decided NO!

I had to rip it all out.

Remember, this is only an 18" x 18" pillow

I started at 9 am (was not working on it for about an hour) and finished at 145 pm.

It was an all-day project just to get the stitching unsewn.

Why so long? It was done in swirls, following the design on the fabric.

When you are working at unsewing swirls, you can't just follow a line of stitching.
They stop you from going because of another swirl. 😕
Can you see the mess?
It was hard on the back.
It was hard on my neck.

So much thread.

Once that was done, I decided to go ahead and quilt it.
I was doing organic on the first one and it went well.
The bottom one I ended up doing curvy lines around the pillow.
I was done in less than half an hour.😩

I went to put it together.
Now, remember, I do this all the time.
I sewed the backing to the front.
Do you happen to notice anything wrong?
More unstitching to do.
Finally got it done
and the second one is finished too.

I am done for today!!!!

Tuesday

I didn't get lots done today because I had a doctor's appointment, but I did make two Bandanas for October.
And, I finished the Jo's club top that Lorena is going to quilt and display to show her work off.

Monday Monday

The center of this Jo's Club quilt is together.
I am NOT happy with my stars, but I did start this one years ago.
It will be OK, but .....

As I'm working on the Jo's Club one, I am putting together Chili Pepper.
I am working on segments so I can web together some of the columns.
I think I have the first two, then the next two, and the last three that are playing nicely together.
I'm calling it a night.
I've had a sinus headache all day today, so it's time to stop.

Finally one of my UFOs is in process.
I have started sewing the groups together. It is going to be a difficult one to web because of how the larger HST are laid out.
If you notice the Chinese coins on the left, I raided the UFO bin to see what I might already have started.
I think they will work as a starting point on the border for the pineapples.
I'm using it as a leader/ender.
As you can tell, this one has NOT been touched.
I did get some of the batting bags put elsewhere so I can get to this part of my studio.
I must get that round pillow started so I can get rid of some of these scrap bags for stuffing.
My pineapple center is sewn together.
I need my son to see it and decide if he wants the border on it or not.
I think it needs to be a bit larger and I don't really want to do more pineapples right now.
This is a tiny quilt.
It has been started for years.
A friend needs something to show off her quilting, and it is amazing quilting, so I volunteered this piece.
I need to finish five more stars and then put it together.
I think the setting is on-point.
I've started sewing the stars together.
All but one had the points done, so that was nice.
It would be wonderful to get this UFO out of my house and to a quilter.
Then, it would go to the quilt shop to show off her work.
I'd get it back sometime in the future.

We made braids with her ruler.
I had a plan for it, but now need to wait to gift it.

These are two postcards I sent off for a swap.
This is supposed to be heart and leaves.               This one is Cactus.

Then, I made some sunflower items.
Napkins                             Coasters

Placemats

I finished another quilt.
Not a UFO, but a swap from Lorena's group.
My color was brown, so I used the brown on the corners.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

I had to put this on hold to finish up some other things that had to be done.
The top rows are sewn together and I need to keep on sewing them together.
I hope to get to this one this week.

I'm still sewing together the pineapple.
I have a few more rows to complete the center of the top.
I pulled some Chinese Coins from my UFO bin.
I'll start the Chinese Coin border with this and add to it from the scrap bins.

Block Swap quilt done

I finished the binding on the block swap I did with Lorena's group.
It's such a pretty quilt.
I'm going to keep this one.
