Praises

No, it isn't snowing in Texas, but we have cool air in our home.
Downstairs went from 82 to 76 in a fairly short time.
I am so happy to have it so I can breathe instead of sweat.
I bet we have it really cold tonight and bundle up in quilts.
I'm  so thankful he got it to working.
Had to get another thermostat and then fix the handler, but he did it!
We had an extra ham and gave it to him.
I think all of us were extremely happy to feel cool air coming out of the vents.
I got two blocks done today.
Not what I really wanted to do, but it is something!

2nd Pat Sloan BOM

This is the second block in I love to quilt by pat sloan.
I was late on block 1 and early on block 2.

Pat Sloan BOM

Check out the BOM at I love to Quilt
This will be made using my floral scraps.
I have lots of them.
Some are medium tone, like this blue, but others are light or dark.
I'm using a medium green for the background.
Hope there is more contrast in the next blocka

Make a List Monday

I know, it isn't Monday.
It's Tuesday, but better late than never!
My list is not all quilting....

1. Get to post office to mail off the pile of mail.
2. Deliver Christmas gift (Wednesday)
3. Get A/C fixed so I am not sweating so much, so I can quilt more.
4. Make Backing for test quilt
5. Start another test quilt
6. Go through UFO cabinet.
7. Continue to clean up studio

Check out Confessions of a Fabric Addict for other links.

DD and I had fun painting with a twist tonight.
At least it was cool in the painting studio, then we came home to a hot house.
They have to order another part.
It is hard to get motivated to move when I am sweating while sitting still.

One Monthly Goal

I finished this awhile back, but didn't get a great photo and didn't blog about it.
This is my December OMG.
It's been hanging on my curtains for awhile now.
I'm sure I'll find a nice home for it.

Introspection

As I'm sitting here in the heat
I is about 83 downstairs and I imagine 5- 10 degrees hotter upstairs, I'm looking for the joy of Christmas.
Our little tree.
Somehow we have two trees and no one knows why.
this was the first one found, and is smaller than the other one.
I got all the decorations on it, so it is full and pretty.
We had Christmas with my Mom on the 24th.
She was not all that able to do anything, like feed herself or open packages.
She was happy and it was fun to be around her.
This is a family PJ photo from Christmas eve.
I was so hot with long sleeves on.

The air conditioner should have been on today.
Tomorrow they open again to get the part out and get it repaired.
I'm praying they have the part in stock.
It is supposed to cool off later in the week.

I have much to be thankful for.
Family that loves me.
A roof over my head.
Food in my tummy.
A quilting studio that is fun to be in.
The ability to homeschool my daughter.
Internet friends.
Many other blessings.

Praying 2017 is a year of blessing for all.

To make this a little quilty.
This is the plate microwave potholder that I made for the family.
I made a blue bowl microwave potholder that DD has been asking for too.
These would be wonderful to make for craft fairs and such.

Blog Clean Up

I've taken 2016 things off the blog and combined them here for a summary.
Overall, it was a good year for UFO finishes and other things too.
2017 is going to be less on UFOs and more on changes. I have many areas in my life that need change made and 2017 will be looking, researching, evaluating and making some needed changes.
