Pixie Garden

Another UFO is Pixie Garden

After these two butterflies, I have two more blocks to complete
One I'm having trouble with the tiny circles.
The last one is the Pixie.
I started her tonight.
After that is making the blocks with the applique pieces.

Design Wall Monday & UFO finish

 Started this commission quilt.
She had charms at her wedding and had everyone pray over them.
This is the pattern she wanted made from those charms.
This might be 1/4 of the charms so far.
I'll need to transfer it to my larger design wall when Quilty Fun is off it.
Quilty Fun really should have another block for the center, but I don't like it so much, so I am tryng for a different layout.
I need to add some coping strips and see if I can get this together.
finished another UFO.
These are the dark blue blocks that I put together.
It's small but turned out OK.
Check out other design walls over with Judy.

Patriotic UFO

I think I'm leaving it at 60 x 60.
Using the one (Race Track) patriotic mix of strips is a little odd, but....it added color.
I am going to have to make a pillow with what's leftover to finish it off.

Stash Report

Judy has us keep track of what our stash is doing.
Used this Week:                                      1.00 yards
Used year to Date:                              171.40 yards
Total out of stash this Month (Oct)           4.08 yards
Added this Week:                                   0.00 yards
Added Year to Date:                             39.00 yards
Goal:                                                   200.00 yards
Yards to goal:                                        28.60 yards

Net Used in quilts 2016:                     124.22 yards

A couple of other fun facts are:

Prairie Moon is doing a 350 blocks challenge this year:
Number of equivalent blocks:               484
Perimeter in inches                               9358
Number of UFOs finished this year:   50.16
UFO Yardage Used                              108.00
Amount of yardage used in UFOs          87%

I had a large finish this week, but the person I was making it for supplied all the fabric.
I only used a yard of my own fabric. :(
But, a finish is a finish.
I'm within one side of binding and will have another UFO done.
I didn't sit and watch TV at all last night, so I didn't finish it.
We were making sugar cookies
The UFO will be done tonight because I have 3.5 hours of waiting.
I'll also be trimming HST.

Girl Scout Canvas

It is quilted and I did quilt over the top of the canvas.
Not sure I love it, but it is made by girls and that is the important thing.
Now to get the binding cut and applied.
I won't be able to take this with me to bind, so I'll just have to be careful with it and bind it at home.

Friday

Friday Fling Day
I got rid of lots of red and pink hats.
The top shelf of my closet is cleared off and ready to reorganizing.
I also got the dark blue quilt ready to bind.
I'll have an hour tomorrow that I can work on it.
I worked on the patriotic quilt.
I need to border the stars I just did so they are the same size as the others.
Design wall was having sagging problems for the fabric on it.
DH did a fabulous job at fixing it for me today.
Mysteries4Military yahoo group clue 2 came out and I finished it.
I again only used the pre cut squares in my scrap area.
I also have the girl scout quilt ready to be loaded on the long arm.
My plan did not work, so I'll try something else.
We shall see if this every gets done.
go over and check out Finished or not Friday.

I might have a scrap problem

Confessions of a Fabric Addict has a great accountability on Wednesdays.
I can't do much on Wednesday with my schedule, but it's Thursday morning for me.

I have ties I need to deconstruct.
I'm not exactly sure how to do that efficiently.
Guess I need to start.

I am working on getting a couple UFOs done. One is loaded on the long arm and now I need to find time to quilt it.
It is small and should not take long.

Next is a patriotic one that is actually pieces from 3 UFOs and should be fairly easy to finish if I would just get to stay home awhile.
I've started a mystery quilt with Mysteries4Military yahoo group.
I used all scraps in the first clue.
YES!!
I hope to be able to use mostly scraps in it.
The problem is most of my white scraps are smaller than was needed.
But, the pre-cuts helped out lots.
I need to be home more.

I don't think I'm going to be home much today either, so.......
