Design Wall Monday

As sad as it sounds, nothing has changed on the design walls.

Last week was the week of daily or sometimes twice daily doctor appointments.

Consequently, I didn't finish anything on my design walls.

Small Quilts and Doll Quilts Design Wall Monday and Monday Making.

All the shirts are stabilized!
I am working on placement.
I believe this is the width of the quilt, with maybe one more column.
All the rest of the shirts will be added to the length of the quilt.

I am having an ADD episode on the second design wall.
The top is a very old UFO that I added the burgundy.
It will have a blue border and another burgundy one.
I'm not sure what else will be done to that quilt. 😁

The red and blue one below is from a class I took.
It is a new start, and I want it finished.
The pattern only calls for that border of HST.
But I might do something else to make it a bit larger or just leave it as a table topper.

To the right of that is the second breast cancer quilt.
It will be worked on when these two smaller quilts are done.

Well, this might look a lot like last week because it is. 😔
This week is going to be only doctor appointments, so I don't know how much will be finished.
We shall see.

Kate at Life in Pieces is doing the challenge of 15 minutes of sewing.

I was out of town but took some hand sewing with me.
I couldn't organize, so I missed a day.

I got rid of some school supplies we don't need.
I'm sure I have more, but a little is better than nothing.

All my stitching is small.
I have one quilt loaded and hope to get it quilted so I can bind it on the road trip.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

Everything came out of the scrap drawers.

Scottsdale, AZ

I will be gone from home to Scottsdale, AZ.

The plus to that is I am taking my sewing machine.

When we need a break from the heat, I will be sewing.

DD wants to learn to sew, so I'm taking both.

The important things are already packed. 😍
Daughter's clothing and wall hanging bag.
My quilting bag
My to make for the new baby bag.

We are going to have fun there making memories and quilting.

Accomplishments

I had two baby quilts to make
This one was from fabric in my stash.
It's with a little less contrast, but I like the birch bark borders.

This came from a kit.
I wish the yellow and light green was a little darker, but I like this one too.
The light flying geese make it look like larger blocks.

Then, I embroidered some onesies with woodland animals.

I had a great organizing week.
I got rid of my old girl scout stuff and a lateral file cabinet.
Then, I moved a dresser to the side where the file cabinet resided.
Now, I can get in the room and work in the closet.
I also hope to make some curtains for the shelving wall to cover up the clutter.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

The background fabric came from one of the blue scrap drawers.

I used scraps for my sheep postcard.
They might be a bit fuffy.

Two things done!

I finished stabilizing the T-shirts.

My pile to the left is gone, leaving an open pressing mat.
The pile to the right is the stabilized shirts ready to cut.
First, I must load all the completed columns on the design wall.
Next, I'll determine the sizes of the already cut shirts.
I'll use the stabilized ones to fill in with the others.

I also finished the borders on a test quilt.
I can't show that one.

It's almost Friday

Well, I didn't write the last few days because I was out of the house.

I spent the morning at the VA getting my blood drawn and getting an ID card.           The ID card took a two-hour wait and a five-minute session. LOL                   But, it is done.

I do not like leaving home when it is over 100 degrees out.

I'm worn out when I get back in the house.

But, I have been stabilizing T-shirts for a large project that has been going on for so long.

My health has stopped progress on this and once stopped, it is difficult to pick back up.

The stack that still needs to be stabilized is on the left and the stack I've worked on this week is on the right.
There are others already stabilized and sewn together and waiting to be sewn together.

I also make a sheep postcard.

it's not the best, but I wanted to add dimension to it. 😔

The other things are woodland animal quilts.

I need to make the labels for these.

I'll be using them for decoration at the baby shower in August.

So, I have been busy, just not enough time to post anything on the day.

Happy 4th of July

We are having a late celebration because DS is working.
I hope all who celebrate have a wonderful day.
Thank you to all who help keep this country free.

I'm not making anything in patriotic colors, but I hope to quilt a couple of baby quilts today.
