Stash Report 7/2/2022

I need to catch up on the stash report and start my accountability again.

From My Carolina Home is doing a challenge on how much we use each month

I found a sale for $5 a yard, even the batiks, so I ended up buying 25 yards of fabric.

I filled some of the red and blue holes in my stash and found a beautiful green batik.

I'm not sure of all the things I've made since my last stash report, so that will start next time.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

I used some scraps in the Zoo quilt leftover from another baby quilt.

It included bonus triangles.

I'm always working with scraps for my postcards.

I'm also working with bonus HST

Trying again

 The last time I started to restart writing on my blog was a month ago. 😔

Well, that didn't work out very well.

Life has been a roller coaster for a few months, maybe a year now.

But, the family went on vacation to Coushatta Casino in Louisiana.

DH loves to gamble and talk to people to discover their stories.

I love to set up my sewing in the room.

DD went with us and had online summer school to complete.

DD and I went swimming every day and enjoyed our time together.

I finished three quilt tops for Uvalde.

They are all quilted and delivered to the people collecting them.

I also put together a baby top for a baby boy.

Next was a baby quilt for DD's co-worker.

These pieces were leftover from another Zoo panel by Eric Carle.

I was very happy to get five quilt tops made.

I'm even happier that they are all five quilted and bound.

Some are delivered and others will wait for another need.

When we got home, I had a test quilt to finish.

I can't show a photo of it, but it is wonderful.

Another test quilt needed quilting, and it is done and bound.

DD absconded with it, so it has a home.

I love that quilt too, but can't show a photo as of yet.

I will work through going back and showing anything I've finished since the last real bout of blogging.

I will also do my best to continue it like I used to.

A Day of Sewing

I haven't had a good day of sewing in a while.

Between medical and life, I just barely get to sew.

I took a class to make a cover for my long arm. 

I bought pre-quilted fabric because I was not sure I'd get it quilted, but they didn't have enough of one color.

So, I bought two colors and I'm glad I did.

I ended up getting the long arm cover out of the 3.36 yards of fabric.

  

Here it is over two chairs in class and then on my machine.

I completed it before noon and the class went to 3:00, so I decided to make one for the embroidery machine.

I used the other 2.5 yards of fabric for my embroidery cover.

I did have to piece the back, but it is still great.

This is my embroidery cover.

I might need to adjust the bottom in the front of the machine because it is shorter.

Today I had nothing planned.

DD needs a baby quilt for a co-worker and I had this panel and the stars from another Eric Carle quilt.

So, off I went to put this together with what I had on hand.

I have it trimmed and ready to be bound.

We have doctor's appointments tomorrow, so who knows, maybe I'll even finish the binding.

It felt good to sew.

Cibolo Senior Beginner Quilting Class

I forgot to post this information.

The Cibolo Senior Center asked me to teach a class for beginning quilters and sewers.

Some of these ladies have never used a sewing machine before.

It is such a joyful group and I love how enthusiastic they are.

Since I've not done much of anything lately, it is fun to be around them.

 

We are now working on a snowball and 9-patch quilt.

I'm so proud of them all.

 

Updates

 I've not been doing much of anything lately.

Life has thrown a curve ball at me and I'm dealing with all that.

It's sad, but I will get through this too.

So, I can't say I've done much.

I'm still doing something daily, but with the motivation low, it makes it difficult to complete anything.

I used up all this material, which is good.

It is a birthday gift long overdue.

My friend's husband has been having medical issues.

I also worked on postcards so I would have them ready to mail when the matches were made.

 

  

 

All of them were made from the scrap drawer.

I'll try and get on to show what I'm doing more often.
