Since we only have a couple of days of 2022 under our belt, I don't have anything to show.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

At the end of 2021, I made 25 more kleenex covers all from my scrap drawers.

Summary of 2021 and 2022 plans

 My goal is always to use 200 net yards of fabric, which means I can buy, but I need to make sure I use more than I buy. 

I need to use 14 yards before the end of the year to get to that goal. 

I don't think it is going to happen, but who knows. 

If I'd get this binding done on a test quilt, I'd be closer. LOL

 My goal for 2022 will still be 200 yards. Here is a summary of the last five years that I've been tracking.

I am hoping 2022 is a better year all around.

My word is going to be PEACE, or it could be PIECE. 

I want a peaceful household where I can piece to my heart's content, including finishing.

Quilting Gail has a spreadsheet to track what you are working on during the year.

 Her challenge was to complete all new starts. 

I did well until September. 

Then, my completions went off a cliff.

Even with that, my summary is good.

Summary:

23 new starts

3 not done 

All three are test quilts

64 quilt-related items in 2021

I'm amazed that I started that many things in 2021. 

I've not tracked that before, so it was a surprise.

That is probably how many I start each year because of the testing I do for others. 

It's a good way to do new things, and it is fun.

 

What am I going to do in 2022?

1.      Work on UFOs

2.      Work with my scrap bins

3.      Make some String Blocks/Quilts

4.      Remain conscious of the new starts

I did OK, but ended up with two projects that I started and didn't finish.

Word for 2022

My word for 2022 is “Peace.” 

I found that I am less peaceful than I want to be.

So, I need to focus on a Peaceful environment, which means decluttering more each year.

I am amazed at how much stuff went out of my house in 2020 and 2021.

I still have more than enough, and some of it the kids don’t want.

So, I am going through things and asking the kids what they would like before sharing with non-family.

I need Peace in my friends around me, both virtual and in-person. 

I am excited to reduce some of my commitments, therefore allowing myself more Peace.

I need to find Peace in the things I’m working on finishing during 2022.

This will mean evaluating the UFOs and only keeping the ones which bring me Peace.

I need more Peace in my relationships.

I want more Peace in my daily activities, where I do all things with joy. 

I will be making some tough choices to determine where my time is spent.

Health is a major concern in 2022 and will be a focus.

Studio update

  The first photo is of what I started with in the studio.

The second one is from last week.

The third will be the current photo.

It isn't showing much damage.

This is how I finished out 2021

I'm happy with the results.

My window seat has something that needs to be mailed, but otherwise, it is good.

My sewing machine area is a bit cluttered, but I'm not sure what I can do about it.

I keep it clean, but it is cluttered.

I still have bags of filing to do, but it will get done.

The catchall basket needs to be emptied.

I have things to put away in that one container, but I'm thrilled with the area.

The T-shirt extras are waiting to see if I need them to finish the T-shirt Quilt.

The box is a maybe for a gift for a friend.

I'm still debating about it.

The top is still a bit of a mess, but I know what is in all the drawers and am happy with it.

 

 

I have items that need to be worked on sitting to the left.

I have my only quilt that needs quilting.

There are a few from other places I need to quilt.

They will all get done as I can.

  

The pressing table is OK.

The storage under it won't get any better until some of the items are completed.

It's OK the way it is for now.

  

I can't show the area because of a test quilt.

 

Much of the batting is used.

The remaining pieces are for smaller projects.

They are where I go first to finish small projects.

 

Oops, the batting rolled off the pile.

The bag is full of coins.

I hate that I have to pay to have them counted.

That's an easy fix.

 

It's still about the same.

If anyone has ideas of how to corral bags and totes, please let me know.
