Perfect Day!

I started the day off with some sewing of the strata for the rainbow quilt.
I finished the last one just a bit ago.
I don't feel I should be cutting tonight, so it will wait until tomorrow.

Then, I made a set of postcards for a future swap.
I'm ahead of the game.

Then, it was off to lunch with dear friends.
Of course, we ate at Hays County BBQ in San Marcos, TX.
Martha had a birthday in March and we were not able to get together.
Since mine is this month, we celebrated today.

Look at my birthday gifts.
the necklace worked so well with the outfit I wore today.
Martha had one too,
We are twins!

Martha's daughter made these amazing bluebonnet earrings.

I can't wait to wear them.

We are so blessed with Martha and Ross in our lives.

To think we met at a football game 4 years ago.
We became fast friends when Martha asked me "want to be my friend on Facebook?"
I have so missed our lunches together.
Thanks for a beautiful day and a memorable birthday!

Bargello

This is the third quilt I'm working to get done for graduation.
The strata were already sewn together for this part.
Now, to sew another set together and do this all over again.
I don't think I'll get lots done tomorrow or through the weekend.
But, next week I should be able to finish this one to the top stage and get to quilting.
What's really nice is so far, these are three UFOs I'll get done this month.

Second Top

The second of the graduation quilts is in top form.
I have the backing ready to use too.
I ended up going with a green wide-back.
It had been used before and I had just enough for this quilt.
Now, what color do I use to bind it?

A day in the studio

I needed one more blue PC

I finished the top for the panel quilt.
It turned out the inner border was equal, which made me happy.
I even have the backing made

This is one of my UFOs that needed lots of blocks made.
I didn't want to make any more, so I put it together as it was.
I have the cornerstones to finish making and then I'll be able to sew the last two borders on and it will be ready for quilting.
I'm not sure what backing I'll use yet.

This is the first day I've been able to quilt all day long.
It was a nice feeling.

Monday Design Wall

   I'm linking to

This will be a graduation quilt. I'm not sure if I'll add an additional border or not.
The map will be bordered with the silver fabric pinned to the wall.
I'll wait for that design decision.
I have today for sewing, so I hope this into a top today.
This is my April OMG
I am working on this, but it is at a delay point for other projects to be finished first.

Well, I was doing well and then needed to help with 3 days of receptions for a memorial.
I didn't have that much energy after the events.

Quilting is more fun than Housework has us working on scraps.

I pulled scraps out of the green bin for the handle and pockets

Postcards almost always come out of the scrap drawers.
