Not such a good sewing week

Well, I guess it was a great week for getting back into the swing of things.
but, it was a not so great week for the sewing machine.
I fixed a purse that was coming apart.
I did finish one applique block while waiting for DD.
I started another, but my hands began to complain, so I stopped.
I quilted Lana's Tumbler quilt.
I love it laid out like this.
I tried to show the close up of the quilting, but I guess the thread blends too good.

I did get to practice my digitizing, but no time to stitch them out.

Other than that, none of the machines were run this week.

This weekend looks no better.
Girl Scouts Saturday and YOSA Sunday.

I plan to load a little at a time and maybe I can get a quilt ready for next week.

So, I know I won't get these done this week, but I would like to get them done with month.

Crazy Week

Well, not much got done.
Little bits and pieces were accomplished, but nothing big.
I did make another lanyard.
I am now needing to clean up after lots of paperwork activities.
I would like to come home to a nice area to work.
Leaving tomorrow afternoon for Mo Ranch for a YOSA Band Camp that I'm chaperoning.
No sewing this weekend, unless I get something to work on by hand.

Ann Smith figured it out without templates.
I like the way it came out.
Now to figure out what to do with it.
I might use it in the Gypsy Wife quilt.

I've had a few crazy days.
My friend, Lorena, came by and helped with the embroidery machine.
It is stitching better, but....it still needs some help.
She said she would come back next week and spend more time on it with me.

I'm up to date on the You Can Digitize course, so that is good.
I imagine tomorrow is going to be sending in another design.

I have my small quilt group meeting tomorrow.
I do have  a massage scheduled in the middle of that, and I'm going.
What are your weekend plans?

Scoop bag

DD did not want her face in the photo, but the scoop bag is done.
It was quick and easy.
All from my scraps.

You Can Quilt
Well , I got my lesson done today, but with lots of heartache.
Not from the digitizing, but from the embroidery machine.
I'm not sure that I fixed it, but it is stitching and i can stitch out my design.
My first digitized design.
I am looking forward to learning what I did wrong and being able to correct the problems.

Then, I watched a YouTube on a scoop purse, and decided to make one.
DD picked out the fabrics from my scrap bins.
She found some fairly large pieces.

I'll work on this tomorrow.

In-between all this, I had to deal with the cable company.
Our phone will not give us a dial tone.
tomorrow they are supposed to be out.
Guess that means tomorrow morning I pick up so they can get in here.

Oh, DD and I did the T25 exercise routine with a friend - lower body workout.
I can barely move and I did not do the intensity of my DD.

Maple Leaf top complete

Finally got the Maple leaf UFO top completed.
I need to find the backing and quilt it.

Will trouble shoot that when DH gets up.

Prairie Moon Organization Challenge

Change your rotary cutter blade

and/or
Clean off and back up your computer files

Well, this is a good challenge.
just backed everything up last night, so I guess I can count that as done.
I have noticed my rotary cutter is not cutting in one spot, so I'll try sharpening it and then if it is not good, I'll replace it.

Design Walls

Judy keeps us accountable with displaying our design walls.
I worked on the maple leaf yesterday, but didn't get it finished.
I'll add another top and bottom green border and then a fall print border.
Decided I was not using some of the other leftover fabrics for this one.
Not even sure about the yellow and orange right now.

Bad start to the day.
Hate it when things go wrong in the household. :(

Anyway, I went ahead and quilted the QOV.
It was loaded and didn't take lots of positive thoughts to work on it.

Well, I'm happy with my progress.
I can see wood on my desk. The question is "How long will it stay that way?"
The QOV is loaded and I can quilt it tomorrow.
I have the fabric picked out for the test quilt.
I filed everything, but I'm sure more will show up at some early point.
I also got lots of household things done that I've been putting off.
All in All, it's been a good day.

Whoop Whoop

I decided to do a whoop whoop post . Check out the others.
I have not done lots this week.  WE started an exercise program that has worn me out.
I did make a hedgehog pincushion for all those long arm needles.

I quilted a QOV

I started loading another QOV

We made pillows with the Special Reach kiddos.

I will take it, even though I had hoped to accomplish more.

Hedgehog Pincushion

I needed a little lightness today.
My life kicked me in the teeth and I wanted something fun.
Sooooo, I decided to make a hedgehog pincushion.
Hunters design Studio has this cute tutorial.
So, it says it takes 2 hours, but I think it took less than an hour.
I enlisted DD to put the old pins in for me.
My hedgehog.
:)

I need some accountability, so this is what I need to accomplish this week.

DD is finally interested in exercising, so I'm doing it with her.
We did Callenetics Evolution and oh my are my shoulders complaining.
Then, a friend asked DD is she would do T25 with her because she doesn't drive, I have to go with her. I can't just sit and watch, so I'm trying to do T25, but the intensity is above my capability.
So, I didn't do much else yesterday.
I did pull out the last QOV to start it being loaded.

No, it is not on the list, but still needs to be done.
Off to get the car worked on.

Special Reach pillows

We had few kiddos than expected, but they still make some fun pillows.
It's always a pleasure to do this with them.
I still have some leftover, so maybe I can find someone else to use them with.

Patriotic UFOs

I think this patriotic wall hanging is going to get 2 other UFOs used in completing it.
I have a Patriotic Race Track that will work and Miscellaneous patriotic blocks and pieces.
I plan to use all 3 of these UFOs to finish this wall hanging/quilt.

Design Wall Monday

well, none are coming along really quickly.
I found some additional leftover pieces and will see if I can put them into the quilt.
Have the first border started.
I think I'll do the same size green around the entire center and then add the smaller blocks to make it longer than it is wide.
Tomorrow, this is the focus.

Will I actually finish all these?  Who knows, but it has been a fun process.  I am happy to have joined in the challenges and the way I picked the items was to just pull them from the UFO cabinet.  That meant I might or night not have wanted to work on them.  So, anything accomplished is a success!

Why do I join in on these challenges and don't pick the same item for each one?  Because this way I challenge myself and everything I do finish is a wonderful experience.
Do I stress over not completing them?  I used to, but not anymore.  They will get done when they are supposed to and that is the good news. If I have to change what they originally started as, that is fine too.  What if they become a small project?  That is fine. IF they become a larger project or get combined with another project?  That is wonderful.

I told myself to balance what I am doing this year and I think I have made that transition from stress to enjoyment.

The year is half over, so I wanted to see how I was stacking up to my plan.
