Make A LIst

I'm going to be a little more realistic this week
1. Finish Test Quilt (I finally got the full pattern with the instructions)
2. Finish up the Charm Tote
3. Quilt Kailey's T-shirt Quilt.
4. Layer the GS canvas quilt (I have been trying to do this for weeks)

Check out other's lists at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

Design Wall

Secondary design wall has the patriotic UFOs (3 different ones) that I'm trying to use together.
My main design wall still has the blue blocks on it.
I need to get the backing made and start on the new t-shirt quilt.

Stashbuster numbers for October

Frog & Flowers baby quilt is going to be cute.
That is my UFO #59.

My UFO #9 will NOT be finished this year.
It is the twin to my UFO #8.
#8 is the boy baby clothing quilt and #9 is the girl baby clothing quilt.

I am working on them as leader/ender because they are not my favorite thing to work on.
Even though I love 2.5" squares, it is not fun to fuse and cut out baby clothing. :(

How have I done?
Small numbers - 7
Large numbers - 7

I've done more than I would have, so I'm happy.
I doubt I would have pulled them from the cabinet if it were not for the Stashbusters numbers game.

Piecing

Finished the small quilt from leftover blue blocks.
I used up the blocks I had, so that is nice.
I'm not sure about the outside borders, but we shall see when I get ready to quilt it.
I have a number of patriotic UFOs that are hanging around.
This one has 3-4 UFO pieces that I was going to finish up individually, but then decided to put them all together.
I have no idea what I'm going to use or what will be left for something else.
I do not like the dark two panels with it right now.
I know I'll finish up the blue stars.  I have some of the background fabric that I could make a few more stars too.
I think the strips will be pieced together for the size of the two blocks, which I think are 12 inch blocks.  Then, I'll cut them into 12" blocks.
After that, we shall see what other fabrics I'll pick to use.
I don't think I'll be using scraps in this one for additional fabrics.
It feels good to get the dark blue blocks off the alternate design wall. :)
I'm still working on the test quilt.
I need to focus and finish it up.

Tote

My Mom is in a nursing home and they use music therapy.
The headphones, Ipod and charging cords all fit in here.
They wanted to be able to hang the items, so I added handles.
I embroidered her name on the bag too.
See all the pink items?
Oh, this was made from the leftovers from Mom's quilt.
I had some strips sewn together, so I used them to make the bag.

I'm adding this to Elm Street Bag It, go join in.

Dark Blocks

I've had these block up on this wall for awhile now.
Finally I got the T-shirt quilt top done and took a break to play with this one.
I decided on the yellow, but didn't want it to be taking over the quilt.
The corner blocks are basically the same size, so that is easy to deal with.
I think I am going to need to make two more purple and white 4 patches and that will be the center.
Everything for this quilt has come from my UFO cabinet or scraps.
So, the purple and white 4 patches will be from the scrap drawers too.

Kailey quilt top is done

I like it.
82 x 108
Yikes.  LOL
Now to get a backing together and it loaded on the long arm.

I know, it is Tuesday, but I made the list and didn't post it on Monday.

So, I have a list that is being worked on, but it is not getting done.
Hope to have the T-shirt top done and maybe get to quilt it.
The test quilt is a leader/ender while doing the T-shirt quilt.

Design Wall Monday

The top is almost done.
I need to border it in white and I need to determine if I'm adding anything to add color to the border.
I might just do a white border to make sure the top is square and add some space from the frames.

Keri Bag

DD wanted a different fabric than I started with, but could use the original one for the lining.
So, I'm calling this one of my UFO finishes and the other pieces are going back into stash.
I'm glad I made it an inch bigger all around.
I ended up velcroing the top because DD did not want the straps on the bag.

Small quilt group

Tammy's charm purse
I didn't do the binding on the top, but just turned it instead.
I double padded this and I think it is almost too small.
I'm thinking I'll make another one just a bit larger.

I worked on another one, but didn't have the right fabric for the straps.

These are both UFOs, so I'll be adding a couple to my completion list.

Friday end

Bows are all made. :)
I need to finish the two other column end of the "ribbon" and sew them together.
Then, do I add a border, and if so, what color?
This is my packed basket for tomorrow's quilting day.
I plan on finishing at least one of the bags and the Christmas panel begun to be bordered.
It is going to be very simple because the panel itself is cute as it is.

Finished or Not Friday

I almost have the third bow done, so it won't be long now.

I have not been doing great, so I've been taking more naps lately.
Maybe I'll catch up this weekend and be raring to go.

My small group meets on Saturday, so I hope to work on some smaller projects and be able to finish something then.

Small Progres

I can't show you the test quilt that I'm working on, but this is the pile of scraps from it.
I have been taking it with me while I have to wait on DD and it is ready to sew the PP pieces together.
I was not feeling well on Tuesday, so all my hopes of having the T-shirt quilt together were not realized.
I have the second bow almost done, so I'm almost half way done on the bows.

Let's Bee Social

Sew Fresh Quilts is having a Let's Bee Social link up.
I'm still working on the T-shirt quilt.
I was so sick to my stomach yesterday that I did not get much done.

I'm also working on a test quilt that I can't show you.

To Do

I do not feel like I'm getting very much done, but I did accomplish a few things and made progress on others, so I need to be thankful I got that done.
Sometimes even though I have things looming over me, I need to do something small.
That one change helps me want to move on.

·A2        Sew some of the test quilt
I have one step done and the second almost done.
·A1        Work on Kailey’s quilt – My OMG
I am making progress.  I have 3 bows to make and sewing the center all together.
·        Make Backing for Girl Scout Quilt
I just need to finish sewing the extra piece on the backing.
Baste Girl Scout Quilt
Shutterfly
I worked on this, but need to focus some time on it.
·        Charm Square Tote Bag
Dark Blue Quilt
·        Clean house
This is the never ending task, but I did some this weekend.
Quilty Fun Blocks

All the ones with little dots are started again this weekend.
If I were realistic, my weekly list would be:

·        Sew some of the test quilt
·        Work on Kailey’s quilt – My OMG

DONE
Ann’s Snowball
Bind Chinese Coins Quilt
Bind Pumpkin Quilt
Clean house

Design Wall

The t-shirt quilt is coming along.
I need 3 more bows,
I need to put the columns together and border it.
We shall see how far I get during the week.
Hope to finish up the top at least by the weekend.

Ann's Snowball

I don't have a pillow form, but the pillow case/cover is done.
This is what Ann Smith put together to come up with the effect of a template star.
I was always afraid to finish it, but it wasn't that hard.

Amount of yardage used in UFOs          89%

Movement

All of the columns are sewn together.
I am having an issue on length that I'll have to figure out.
I think I'll be adding 2" between the columns for spread the t-shirts apart more.
I still need to make the bows for the top and the "end of ribbon" for the bottom.

Need to finish the backing and determine if I'm adding a flange or a ruffle to this little pillow.

Chinese Coins is done.

Hope you are having a great Sunday.

Only a few years ago it was not as pleasant.
Never forget.

T-shirt quilt

OK, so I have all the T-shirts framed.
I've done the ribbons between the columns.
I've calculated the fill in borders to make the columns the same width.
I am debating on which bow to use.
I might just have to make mine up.

But, for tonight, I'm done with this project.

I now need to go and trim the Chinese Coins and get the scrappy binding on it.

Design Wall

I'm now having fun.
The top and bottom rows are going to stay basically the same.
The middle part of the quilt may be adjusted to lay better.
Half way done with the framing.
Then, to make sure the ribbon and background are put together.
Then will come the bows and determining which pattern to use.
It's all so fun.

My leader/ender is the test pattern, so I can't show you that picture.
