3 year old UFO completed

Well, I've been working on these for years and finally got those curtains finished. The size overwhelmed me, so it took forever. I don't know that I'll ever make curtains again. I used stash, so that is a good thing. Wish I had figured it all out before I started instead of making corrections as I went along.
The valance went well, but the rest, well.......

So, what did I work on this week? I worked on a few things, but not finished anything but this purse. This is for a teacher that is leaving. It is twice as big as I normally make, so it was a challenge.

Then, I've been cutting up baby clothing. I decided I needed to see what it would be looking like, so here is a piece put together. I will take it to the school to see if this is truly what she wants things to look like. The challenge there is trying to keep some of the pockets and getting the designs so they don't get cut apart. I need to get more things cut apart so there is more variety, but it will work just fine. I like the parts that don't require the stabilizer. That helps to make things go quicker. I think it will be a fun quilt that her twins will cherish.

Postcard completed

I did it! I got another item off my to do list and finished the birthday postcard for Kathy.
It does feel good to be doing something. I'm hoping I can sew when I get home tonight. Wish me luck.

Baby clothing quilt

Slowly making some progress. Those little clothes take time to cut up. Been working on it on and off and not got lots, but thought I'd share the result.

As you can see, I think the clothing bin is expanding instead of decreasing.

The 2.5" square and the 4.5" blocks are not expanding all that much. I've been sewing a few together just to see how it goes. I've run across some cotton, and they go quicker.
I have a label finished for a QOV and will sew it on today or tomorrow, so that will be finished. My schedule seems to be busier than ever.

So, what did I work on this week? I finished my birdhouse valance for the kitchen doors. These need the curtains fixed to them different from the plan. So, I stalled out on the curtains, or that would have been lots of fabric used. :) I will be working on them this week, and hope to have lots of things to note next week.
I have the binding almost on a QOV, but that won't count as anything out of my stash. But, it is for a good cause.
I'm also working on cutting up baby clothing for a double sized quilt for a teacher. She wants 2 of these for her twins. This is going to be a big project for Christmas. Wish me luck.

Binding going on

I'm making progress on the binding on the QOV. I need to make the label for it and then probably one more time at Karate and I'll be ready to get a destination. I'm excited to be working on another QOV.

I also cut out a few more baby clothes. I am making progress one step at a time. Not enough difference to show you. Maybe by the weekend I'll show you what I've accomplished.

I went to get a ruler off a shelf and dust came down, so I did a little bit of cleaning of my cutting table area. I really would like to declutter that, but it keeps piling up quicker than ever. But, my shelf is not dust free and organized. I feel good!

quilting

Well, DH is off to Washington DC and it is cloudy outside. He is still at the airport with a plane delay.

Me, I came home and mopped the kitchen floor, and started to cut out 2.5" squares from baby clothing. Sometimes it is hard to cut up something that is perfectly good clothing. But, Lillian wants it, so that is what I'm doing. I've been procrastinating about this project because of the magnitude and it being someone else's things.
So, after an hour, I have this many squares.
I wonder how long it is going to take me to get through this? Oh my, I don't think I know what I'm getting myself into.
My kitchen curtains will be worked on too, but I just had to stop and let my mind rest. Ever have one of those projects that just don't want to do what is right? Well, that is this curtain.
I did load a QOV on the long arm and it is ready to quilt now. I have to quilt around the embroidery work, so I imagine it will just be a meander design. I'll know more when I start it.
So, it feels so good to be back at the machines and cutting board. Since the valance is done, I'll even have a stash report that is something more than a zero for next week. That makes me happy.

So, what did I work on this week? Absolutely nothing until today. I'm working on a 3 year old UFO -- my kitchen curtains. The main part of the curtain is done, but the valance with all the embroidery work on it is still needing to be finished, so I can't count anything. LOL But, next week will be a great stashbuster!!!

BDB

Well, today we celebrated DH's 58th Birthday. It isn't until Tues, but today was an easier day to celebrate. So, the family was over all day long. A fun day.

When everyone left, I got to sew. I finished sewing the BDB for September and can mail it Monday. I like this design. She wanted it left in 4 pieces so she can make it more scrappy. It turned out just about perfect too. Only one of them had a little issue.
This week I've sewn on 4 patches for teachers that needed some help. So, that was good -- make $20. Not too bad. LOL
I've also been doing a little more organizing and cleaning. I really need to get this room in order.
I have some Scout planning for Thursday that I need to complete tomorrow.
I also have 2 heartstrings that need to be quilted and 1 QOV. So, I'd better focus again and get some things done.

sewing is good

Well, I accomplished 2 things this weekend. Yea!!!

I got the late birthday block done. I like this jewel box layout. Smaller than the ones I've done before, so it is cute.

Then, I got the quilting, binding and label on the Love quilt. That will be mailed on Tuesday. This Ann's mystery. I love this one too. Just realized it is the same pattern. LOL
I was going to do more today, but we went to Sea World instead. I am putting things away, so that is taking my time.
